Bio
Sullied Accolades is a dark and divine string trio whose wanderlust led them across the country to the East Coast, where they have been planting their musical roots in Brooklyn since 2010. The trio converged in the depths of an art school studio in San Diego, where their original tunes were forged in the late after hours, and later honed. The band is comprised of guitarist/vocalist Danny Taylor, violinist Stephanie Mead, and upright bassist Erich Winzer. Their music fuses elements of airy harmonies, dark melodies, and rhythmic jogs, and combines components of Gypsy, Jazz, Folk, and Western, creating their three-hour repertoire of original tunes. Taylor's deep and guttural voice adds a rich texture that weaves its way through the music. Although formally trained in orchestra, the violin and upright bass come together here with a freshness and spontaneity that does not stem from written notes.
The trio live together in a sunny Brooklyn loft. Currently they have a residency at a Chelsea restaurant with weekly performances, gives them ample time for practice, discussion, and a connected life experience. The trio is currently recording an EP at Atomic Studios in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Their quest for musical adventure now leads them to realize their vision for performing live on a global level.
