"Sullivan in Vegas"

The Music Festival

One band I heard was called “Sullivan.” I found it nice they named their band after a
schoolteacher who used to be the chaperone for the school dances. These young men
are all very nice and have something special in their manner.

They reminded me of a group called some people call the Fab Four when they were
playing at the Cavern. The young men have a raw talent that just needs the right people
to get them going in the record business.

They write their own lyrics and they are great at writing their own songs. Several
industry people chatted with them after they performed. The band won best alternative
rock band at the festival.

The band is made up of three brothers and two friends. To show how they really are
trying to get their band going they drove up from Texas. It took them 24 hours to drive
directly through to Las Vegas. That is dedication to something you enjoy doing. The
band plays gigs in Texas. I know they must have a following of young girls, as they are
good looking young men. They have a Website called “The Feeble Five.”

They have good rapport with the audience; they talked about what writing their songs.
They also chatted with the audience while the sound people tried to get everything
working. Even with the sound problems these young men shined. The have that
something special.

I like their look and with a little work these five boys from Texas just might make it to
the big time!

Bio

Sullivan is not afraid to bust out in three or four part harmony in the face of danger. Their fans follow them like Weezer’s legions hanging on their sensitive lyrics and their lovable stage personalities. Sullivan's influences are bands such as Radiohead, Silverchair (diorama), Eisley, and The Beatles. Sullivan is also the product of other styles such as Broadway musicals and barbershop quartets. Their sound reflects bits and pieces of these influential musical sources, but Sullivan has a unique flair about them that makes the inevitable “Who does Sullivan sound like?” a tough question to answer. They sound like Nathan Miller’s brilliant lyrical and compositional journeys rounded out with the Aguilar brothers' fine orchestration and Chris Lewis’ unassuming yet powerful vocals. Chris and Nathan often alternate lead vocals bringing the songs to life with stellar harmonies and interesting live performances. They have fun and the crowd responds appropriately, but when they turn it around and play something melodramatic the crowd is quick to follow. “They rock. They roll. They work hard at playing hard, and that’s what makes them Sullivan,” says Will Sisco, friend of the band and future president of the United States.
