Heirs of the musical tradition of rupestres, guacarock, danzon, trio, trova and bolero, guaracha sabrosona and latin rhythms, Su mercé has its origins in Mexico City in the late 90's.
Su Mercé launches their first independent demo, ¨6 Con Todo”, in 2000 recorded in the studio Las faldas del Ajusco of Rogelio Gomez (former guitarist of Ansia), this material includes 6 cuts that give a first look at the proposed merger of latin rhythms that characterizes the sound of Su Mercé, which leads them to perform in the most important forums of the time: Rockotitlán, Rock Stock, Major Square of Mexico City, plus small neighborhoods presentations, alternating with the most important bands of the Mexican rock scene: Los Rastrillos, Los de Abajo, Los Músicos de Jose, Tex Tex, Maldita Vecindad y los Hijos del Quinto Patio, Salario Mínimo, Ganja, Antidoping, Kenny y los Eléctricos, Salón Victoria, Botellita de Jeréz, Panteón Rococo, Inspector, Mamá Pulpa, among others.
In 2003 appears “La Pura Variedad” edited with Discos Antidoto,it consists of seven original songs that are not meant to reveal the secrets of the city but they do show a wide variety of urban stories. The CD was launched in the heart of Mexico City and sponsored by composer Jaime Lopez.
In 2008 through the lens of Isabel Muñoz Cota and her short-documentary "Su Mercé", the group of musicians who sing for the city and takes us by the hand on a tour of the Federal District. Ariel Winner 2008 for Best Documentary Short, it was presented at countless festivals and was creditor of many awards such as the International Film Festival of Morelia. 2007 33rd International Festival of Filmets. Barcelona, Spain. Section "World Film Schools" 2007, Dañino International Film Festival. Bucharest, Romania. Official Competition. 2007, 5th International Film Festival Contemporary Mexico City, FICCO. Mexico City. Official Competition. 2008, among many others.
2011 marks the return of Su Mercé to the scene, with almost all of the original alignment and new additions, which enrich musically, they decide to resume the project, appearing in different forums in Mexico City, Oaxaca and Morelia, and some participations in festivals like Fusion Festival 011 in the National Arts Centre, Mother Earth Festival in Iztapalapa, 1st International Festival of Indigenous Cultures, Festival Vive Ixmiquilpan, Tianguis del Chopo, Garden Hidalgo in Coyoacan and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), sharing the stage with El Gran Silencio, Pato Machete, Los Malditos Cocodrilos y El Tri.
In 2012 they participate in the cycle "Concierta independencia" at the Lunario of Auditorio Nacional, sharing the stage with Botellita de Jerez, this presentation was broadcast on Once TV Mexico, shown in Foro Once program.
Currently they present their latest material called “Correspondencia”, produced entirely independently, with 10 tracks already known by the public by the fans who had followed the bands career. With the participation of Juan Manuel Torreblanca who produced the albums first single along with the band, “En Otro Bar”, the video that promotes this first single is already circulating in the social networks.
