On Friday, one of the more distinctive and ambitious local acts played at Will's. Fronted by Brad Register (formerly of Pilots vs. Aeroplanes and currently handling guitar duties in the ever-respectable The New Roman Times), the young but seriously-minded Summerbirds in the Cellar brought a nuanced and textured performance. Their set on this night was less atmospheric and more driving than in previous shows and better suited to their headlining spot.
