"Neon Indian Remix by Summer Dregs"

"Neon Indian‘s stunner of a song, “Mind, Drips”, was recently remixed into an exquisitely frothy tune by Tennessee’s Summer Dregs (aka Carl Cadwell) and recalls the likes of Atlas Sound. Summer Dregs’ own new record, From Gold to Green, is “dark, semi-sweet electro-pop” that deserves a good listen as well." - Sentimentalist

"[Remix] Neon Indian – Mind, Drips (Summer Dregs)"

As premiered on Stereogum last week, this remix of Neon Indian‘s “Mind, Drips” comes from Chattanooga’s Summer Dregs. Summer Dregs is the result of Carl Cadwell collaborating with musicians of greater talent to make better music than any of the contributors could alone. On their new record From Gold to Green it manifests itself as delicious, dark, semi-sweet electro-pop for fans of Passion Pit, Dntel/Postal Service, and the aforementioned Neon Indian. - The Music Ninja

"Summer Dregs- Bones"

"With winter wrapping its icy fingers around the majority of the Northern hemisphere, sometimes its nice to reflect on the brighter (and warmer) side of life. This is exactly what this sprawling collective from Chattanooga aim to do with their unique brand of, “Delicious, dark, semi-sweet electro-pop”. Boasting a plethora of differing collaborators, Summer Dregs is lead by Carl Cadwell as the group explores their well-balanced take on optimistic electro-pop. And, much like the semi-sweet chocolate the band refers to on their web site, this intriuging sonic mixture provides just enough addictive sweetness to keep you coming back for more without requiring an unscheduled trip to the dentist." - Stereo Subversion

"Summer Lovin"

"It's light and breezy short sleeved music. It's like waking up in October to an unexpected burst of sunshine bathing you in waves of warmth.
If you're a fan of Sufjan Stevens or The Postal Service then get out your bikini and enjoy the dregs of summer with Summer Dregs."

Bio

What began as a recording project in 2009 has now (2013) grown into a ferocious live band.

The mastermind of Summer Dregs, Carl Cadwell, decided to begin a recording collaboration with various musicians "of greater talent" in the wake/implosion of electro-groove-hop band, Infradig. Working with Infradig drummer, Josh Green, Cadwell began to refine his craft for songwriting and electronic production. Cadwell utilized the vocal prowess and songwriting mastery of Stephen Nichols, owner and producer at As Elyzum recording studio in Chattanooga, TN.

Fast forward to autumn, 2012. Summer Dregs is now a concentrated, intentional, and aggressive live band incorporating the tasteful bass playing of Travis Knight (who played in another band with Cadwell and Green, The Distribution). Despite a somewhat overwhelming musical inbreeding, 2013 has seen the band, within a very short time frame, packing out clubs in Tennessee, performing with bands such as Lotus, Heypenny, and How I Became the Bomb.

Major influences of the band include Passion Pit, The Postal Service, Four Tet, Bjork, Squarepusher, and Dntel.

Rising from the ashes of bands such as Infradig, The Distribution, Annie, and Actress, the members of Summer Dregs are seasoned and focused on innovation and spawning dance parties.
