Since their inception in April of 2004, Summit Avenue has earned the tag as one of the best up and coming bands in the Twin Cities and Midwest. Summit Avenue, consisting of Ben Anderson (vocals, acoustic guitar, piano), Josh Kobow (vocals, bass), Tony Leif(guitar, vocals) and Jeff Worden (drums), have blended rock, pop and blues music into a single style that has been entertaining crowds across the midwest.
During the summer of 2005, Summit Ave appeared at the 2005 Cities 97 Basilica Block Party with Pete Yorn, the Wallflowers, Better Than Ezra, Blue Merle, Big Head Todd, Carbon Leaf, and Marc Broussard. The future looks very bright for this young and ambitious group. The band released its much anticipated first full length album “As I Am” in October. Summit Avenue chose to work with Jacques Wait (Minnesota Music Awards “Producer of the Year” 2004) on the 10 tracks that will define their first album.
