A TRIBUTE TO ROKY ERICKSON AND THE 13TH FLOOR
ELEVATORS
Sumner Erickson ... lead an ace band through a broad sampling of Elevator’s material...diving to the heart of the matter... with a searing version of “You’re Gonna Miss Me”.
...the band found an intense groove...
The Elevator’s weren't back, but this was going to be pretty close.
... a mesmerizing version of “The Kingdom Of Heaven”...
... Sumner’s imitation of Roky’s primal screams...brought a number of knowing smiles.
...in it’s live form, (the music) maintains a melodic vitality and lyrical relevance the equal of any in
rock, despite its relative obscurity.
