How to describe SUNAYAHs music? Deeply rooted in reggae tradition by its strong Nyabinghi rhythm, SUNAYAH opens to a world of harmony by including flute and violin. Born in Quebecs Laurentian mountains, the band gathers people carried by a common love of travel, whose paths crossed to give birth to the sun of JAH, SUNAYAH. Although reggae remains their main source of inspiration, subtle perfumes from the Orient, Africa and other faraway places add spice to their songs and create a music rich with multiple roots that find their unity in a devotional celebration.Carried by this powerful music, a voice rises to sing the sacred with
simple words that all can hear. Although these words are often those of
Jamaican Rastafari, the texts convey a universal message of love and devotion. This rhythmic prayer invites, above all, to dance in celebration of the beauty of the world. More than mere entertainment, this dance then becomes a liberation that carries the audience on roads too seldom traveled. SUNAYAH invites you to celebrate a larger mystery with a musical ceremony where, between each note, one feels the warmth and light of the sun of JAH.
