Bio

Coming from a very small town in southwestern Ontario has been more of an inspiration to Steve Luxton and Matt Weed and has given them the drive and ambition to hit the road, grow their fan base and continue to create extraordinary, captivating, original tunes. Check out the cool blend of this “acoustic pop” vocal duo, along with the exceptional performances of this very talented band.

After graduating with awards as a recording engineer, Steve has attained success that not many have at the age of 20. Subsequently working for Metal Works (Mississauga Ontario) for a year and Howl Studio (Oakville, Ontario) for 2 years, Steve has not only been involved in many major label and independent label recordings, he has attained notoriety as an upcoming producer having engineered and produced a number of projects that have his name buzzing in the local music recording scene. After bypassing an opportunity as staff engineer at world renowned Metal Works, Steve has put his engineering/producing career on hold to pursue his dream as a recording artist, combining his polished guitar chops with his vocal and production talents. When Steve set his sights on his writing & performance career, it was an automatic decision for him to call upon long-time friend and past duo partner Matt Weed. Matt, being a solo vocalist and accomplished singer songwriter/acoustic guitar player, brings a vocal tone that is really finding the zone. Matt, having developed a large and loyal fan base in his home town area of Wyoming & Sarnia, Ontario, was a perfect match for the Sunday Sounds Good project. Not only is Matt a great singer/guitar player, his charming persona, witty and upbeat attitude and friendly smile has really brought him a lot of attention …. Just wait ‘til they hear it all wrapped together!

“Sunday Sounds Good” have just completed a 7 song CD that is already impressing industry professionals and fans without its official release that is slated for the summer of 2012. Steve & Matt recorded the project with the amazingly talented drummer Lauren Chan – a highly sought after jazz drum graduate of York University. Playing with a number of local bands, Lauren was quick to confirm his commitment to “Sunday Sounds Good”…. “I don’t want to miss this opportunity and want to be the drummer for SSG” stated Lauren.

Bass player Stacey Shopsowitz has studied bass at University of Toronto & Berkeley. He was also quick to confirm his place within the group. “Stacey is an amazing bass player, and even more amazing on the standup bass” is what local industry professionals have been saying!
Sunday Sounds Good is currently planning a tour throughout Ontario and Eastern Canada. Check here and on their website for upcoming dates. Come out and help support Sunday Sounds Good on their exciting musical journey.
