Phoenix, AZ indie punk five-piece (and one of AP's 12 Bands for January 2016) Sundressed have released a music video for their single "Beck And Call" off their latest EP The Same Condition, out now via Take This To Heart Records. The band will also be heading out for a West Coast tour with Chase Huglin (InVogue Records) and Papertowns, starting today at the Trunk Space in Phoenix, AZ and wrapping up on Jan. 26 at Duke City Sound in Albuquerque, NM. - Alternative Press

It’s hard to think of a band more deserving of big time exposure this year than Sundressed. Combining everything you love about the worlds of alternative and indie rock, Sundressed have been delivering underground smash after underground smash since their formation in the fall of 2011. We have been itching to work with the band on something special for months now, and recently they approached us with an opportunity we could not refuse. Today, for the first time anywhere on Earth, you can view the band’s new video for “Autopilot.”

When asked about the themes of his band’s newest single and its accompanying video, singer-songwriter Trevor Hedges offered the following:

“‘Autopilot’ is a song about getting into a routine and coasting through life without being in the present. I think we’re all guilty of this at times and sometimes you need to just wake up. The idea of the video was to make a whole year pass by me as I’m staring straight into nothing on the couch. Of course, in typical Sundressed fashion, we made it fun and ’90s-themed to hopefully pass the message along that we all deal with difficult stuff, but there is a positive in everything and we like to have fun with it.” - substream magazine

Starting off as a group of dudes who formed in a coffee shop on a mutual love of good ol' fashioned rock, Tempe-natives Sundressed have taken their passion up another level. Following the release of Dig Up A Miracle in April, the band is back with an EP showcasing their tireless work ethic. Titled The Same Condition, the band continues showcase strong songwriting and a maturing emotive punk sound. "Good As You": "This song was one of those where lyrics just started coming out and I had to go back and read them to figure out what it was really about. It’s about dealing with people who think they’re better than you and kind of giving up on the idea of trying to gain the approval of others. Sonically we had a blast arranging the harmonies on this song. It may be my favorite arrangement we’ve ever put together."

"Beck and Call": "This song is specifically about the end of a long term relationship and not feeling good enough, because you weren't the person that your partner wanted you to be. It ended up being a difficult relationship where I found myself compromising who I was for the sake of who that person wanted me to be. Find that thing that makes you feel alive and follow your dreams. Don't ever let anyone take that away from you."

"Ordinary Day": "Again, for a lot of my lyrics, I begin writing without a particular theme in mind and kind of figure it out as I go. Going along with the theme of the record, this song goes along with finding your own authenticity in what you do with your life and realizing there’s really no reason to compare yourself to others. Judgment is something I think we’re all guilty of and spending a lot of time in that headspace is not very fruitful."

"Every Part is Moving": "I actually wrote this song a long time ago, and struggled with the arrangement for quite a while. When we decided to have a minor key song on the new EP, I went back to it, and it ended up being one of my favorite tracks. Those lyrics are about being authentic and letting your own voice/form of art come out how it is. Which is actually kind of ironic since I thought about the arrangement so much!"

The Same Condition marks Sundressed second EP release in 2015 from Take This To Heart Records.

“Good As You” is a very misleading intro track at first, slow guitar picking and restrained vocals give off an entirely different vibe, but it finds its form when the pre-chorus shows up. The chorus is a wonderful blend of heartfelt lyrics and classic pop elements that demand fans to sing-a-long. “Beck and Call” is arguably the band’s most successful song to date. With similarities to mid 90s Green Day, it oozes style and energy with an unforgettable chorus. The breakdown pushes this song into a whole new dimension where vocalist Trevor Hedges unleashes some monster notes to show off his raw talent.

This is one of the strongest EP’s of 2015 from any band in the pop-punk genre. The production is crisp and smooth. The tracks whisk by and demand repeat listens. There is a level of progression from their previous EP, Dig Up A Miracle, where the sound feels more refined and each member is contributing equally.
