"Sungods rock Wheeler like a tsunami!"

No one expected the first ever rock concert in Wheeler, on the Oregon coast, to be quiet, but area residents soon found they were in for a sound-nami last Saturday when the Sungods of Cascadia came to town. Bringing their masterful mix of rock and provocative spoken word to this sleepy town seemed to awaken peoples appreciation for good old fashioned "stickin it to the man" rock and roll. Business was booming at the Rising Star Cafe, a new locally owned restaurant in the "artist district" of Wheeler. Co-Owner Ron Minshwaner can't wait to have the band back for another, much needed infusion of vitality. "I swear I could hear the fish singin' along," said Ron, referring to Sungods' anthem about the creation of life in the sea entitled, "Europa." We'll be paying close attention to these rockers from Eugene who fit perfectly into "The Intrepid Catalyst's" mission to raise community awareness in Oregon. - The Intrepid Catalyst

Bio

Manifested in the Oregon Cascades with a commitment to sustainability and localism, Sungods speak for the trees, the commoner, the trickster, in all of us.... Influenced by Flaming Lips, Radiohead, Grandaddy, Ravonettes, the Pixies, Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Stones, the Doors, Cream, Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc. we are a new interpretation of that original raging passion and fun-loving spirit that the 60's teased us with. We left the commune to share our irreverance for the established order, and perhaps, to have a little fun with the good people of Cascadia.
