Sun In Flight

Starting on the open mic circuit in and around Boston, and meeting through mutual friends, Sun In Flight began in June of 2009. Jeff Demodena, Jacqueline Gabriela, Patrick Barchard, Matt Difeo Jon Legan and Dan Shephard immediately started writing new music and played at the hottest venues in Boston. After saving enough of their earnings they released their first EP in April of 2010. Directly after, Dan Webber of Dweb Productions created their first music video for their EP single "Breakaway".

As time went on they challenged themselves by creating new sounds; jazz meets rock meets hip hop. In January of 2011 they started recording their first full length album "What Type of Dinner is This?" with Rob Maloof of Gauntlet Studios. Their Album release Party at was a huge success.

Jacqueline and Jeff started running their own Open Mic Nights in Boston in the beginning of 2010. They have had great success building it by networking with local musicians. After almost 2 years of booking shows through local promoters, they knew if they wanted to reach a higher level, they could use their already built network to start booking their own shows. In January of 2012 they landed booking rights at Hard Rock Cafe in Boston. Within a few months, they raised enough money to release their new single "Whispers of the Crowd".

The managers at Hard Rock Cafe in Boston were so pleased with their success that they gave them a referral to play and book shows at other Hard Rock Cafe's.

In May of 2012, they embarked on their first road trip to Pittsburgh, Pa. Unfortunately, Drummer Dan Shephard, left the band a few weeks before the PIttsburgh Hard Rock show. Michael Macdonald was a regular drummer at Jacqueline and Jeff's Open Mic. He joined Sun in Flight, just in time and added a whole new flavor to the rhythm section.

By June of 2012 they took another road trip to play the Hard Rock Cafe in Foxwoods Resort and Casino. After great success, the band has gained the confidence to organize their first National Tour in the Spring of 2013. After much consideration, Bassist Jon Legan left the band because of his responsibilities to his family and business. Jacqueline, Jeff and Patrick were dealing with differences that could not be worked out. Patrick left the band in October.

Jacqueline, Jeff, Matt and Michael are the remaining members of Sun in Flight. They are in the process of introducing a new bassist and have been working hard writing new music. They released their first single "Paint the World" on November 2nd.

As in life, things change, but their passion for their music and one another has grown stronger. They are optimistic and driven to finish writing their new songs, to continue to play to new faces, complete their tour and to release their 2nd album in Summer of 2013.
