Bio

Sun Jungle is a southern Florida rock band based in Jensen Beach, Florida. Jim Korycinski “Gabba” is the vocalsist/guitarist, Mike Howard on bass, and Aaron Bogucki “The Guck” is on the drums. They make up the core of the band and are very proud in the fact that they have recorded and played with several talented musicians over the past decade. It has been a long road and “Gabba and The Guck” have paid some interesting dues along the way.
Gabba's first band was a punk band in 1989 called “The Howlys”. They played on the small island of Maui. Gabba was the lead singer and the band typically had gigs at night beach parties or luaus. He then moved to the island of Oahu where he formed his second band, “The Little Halfords”. In “The Little Halfords” Gabba played rhythm guitar and performed lead vocals. “The Little Halfords” were mainly an alternative band and played around the island of Oahu with a few visits to the old stomping grounds of Maui. After graduating from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Gabba moved back home to southern Michigan and helped form the band “Baltimore Forest” with three of his best friends from high school. Gabba finally saw some success with “Baltimore Forest”. They were nominated for 1994's best alternative crossover band on Detroit's Z-Rock and afterward landed producers Rick Young (Michigan), Richard Dodd (England), and David Hall (Nashville) in 1996/1997. The money ran out in Nashville and Matt, the lead guitarist, went through divorce/insanity while the producers sat in horror. So Gabba moved on to southern Florida where he met Aaron Bogucki in 2000 and formed what he swears is his final project “Sun Jungle”. Gabba brings all of his past experience to “Sun Jungle” (no divorce/insanity stuff).
Gabba met The Guck and Mike through the workplace. They all are teachers; Gabba and Mike for nine years and The Guck for four. Gabba was very impressed with The Guck's and Mike's jazz style in the band room and they hit it off immediately. The Guck was the center of his high school jazz band for three years in upstate New York and also played in and out of several bands at St. Lawrence University and the University of Georgia (Athens Rocks!). The Guck earned a bachelor's degree in geology from St. Lawrence University and a master's degree in hydrogeology from the University of Georgia. The most successful band that The Guck jammed with during his college days was “Day Room” out of Athens, Georgia.
In 2002, Gabba and The Guck built a studio in Guck's house and have been recording like madmen this summer. It is based on a teacher's salary (Cubase software, soundblaster soundcard, digitech effects, fender guitars, bass,) but has led to vast improvements for the Sun Jungle project. “Sun Jungle” has also played gigs from Jensen Beach to Miami between 2000 to 2002 and currently play at “Bubba's Fish Camp” and “Rookies” in downtown Stuart, Florida. They also jam with several local bands including “The Shakers”, “Shifted Fate”, and “Neverhood” and have a wealth of musicians to jam and record with from Michigan, to Hawaii, to Southern Florida.
