Bio

Straight out of Austin, the Live Music Capitol of the World, comes the powerful rock band, “SunMachine.” The band consists of members Mitch Armstrong, Jimi Jackson, Jason James and Rob Rosson.

SunMachine’s sound is simply hypnotic. It’s earnest, passionate, complex and intense with unique time signatures like you’ve never heard. SunMachine’s style is a magnificent blend of the best of The Doors and Pearl Jam. From truly undeniable hard rock hooks and hushed melodies to a mix of wailing guitars, bombastic drums, thunderous bass and compelling vocals, their sound is infectious.

Lead singer and guitarist is Mitch Armstrong, whose voice is reminiscent of the late Jim Morrison - powerfully evocative, strong and sensuous. A Dallas native, Mitch has established an impressive reputation as a singer / songwriter with a passionate voice and mesmerizing acoustic-electric guitar.

Hard-hitting drummer Jimi Jackson, a former Lava/Atlantic recording artist of “The Boondock Saints,” toured the U.S. in support of his debut album, enjoyed national radio play and recorded with guitar legend Jeffrey “Skunk” Baxter. He plays with unrivalled authority with solid, surging, exhilarating rhythms.

Lead guitarist Jason James makes his presence felt in a big way, taking his smokin' solos to screaming crescendos. His tasteful, versatile style includes the use of counter rhythms and effects to produce a fusion of psychedelic sounds.

Bassist Rob Rosson gels with the drums to form a powerful rhythm section. He plays a solid, vibrant bass. Rob is a complex, intellectual musician who has meticulously studied his craft and his sound is an intriguing blend of rock, funk and blues. The most recent member of the band, Rob has become the final component of the Machine.

SunMachine consciously strives for originality, fearlessly pushing themselves into new territory. In addition to airplay on the local radio station, 93.7 KLBJ, SunMachine has been featured on Waco’s 97.5 FM and the Colorado Music Showcase on 107.9 The Bear.
