"Sunsets East @ Eddie's Attic"

Sunsets East- one of the Atlanta area's newest country bands, made their debut last night at Eddie's Attic in Decatur and put on one heck of a show. Frontmen, Jeff Gardner and Jeff Spirko and the rest of the band put their heart and soul into one great performance. A band that is ready to take off and make large waves on the Georgia country music scene.
Sunsets East is mostly a orginal music band and they showed their talent in picking great songs that match their voices and musicial range. One great example of that was Jeff Spirko with his version of "Chattahoochee Sunrise", the Cory Sellers (formerly of Wild Bills) penned song that is a great anthem for Georgia. Other great orginaly works was the rockin' country "Work For It", the easy going "Southland" and the rockabilly "Love Emergency". They wowed the crowd with great harmonies with the classic "Seven Bridges Road".
The band is very versatile as Spirko plays almost anything with strings, guitar, fiddle, banjo and mandolin. Shannon Pengelly on the keys but showed his talent range on guitar and harmonica. The rest of the band rounds out with John Pritchett on bass and Ganesh Giri Jaya on drums.
The band is currently working on their first cd and we're sure they'll sell many once that is available.
We highly recommend catching a "Sunsets East" show soon and this band knows how to entertain to the fullest. -

Sun Sets East has been picked by Leslie Fram to be part of the lineup for her first annual “Fram Jam” at this year’s Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta, GA Sept 2008!

In case you haven’t heard, Sun Sets East is a brand new modern-classic country rock band pulling influences anywhere from “Little Big Town" and “Keith Urban" all the way back to “The Eagles” and “Fleetwood Mac”. The focus of the band is its powerful lead singers, Jeff Gardner and Jeff Spirko, (or the Jeff’s). Strong songwriting, rich vocal harmonies and multiple instrumentalists are all what places the group in a unique musical category.

As hired gun musicians for another up and coming country group, the Jeff’s could no longer lie in the background and have their musical voices and material not be heard. Through a bold move and with much support, Sun Sets East was born in early 2008. Since the conception, the group has caught overwhelming attention from the Atlanta, GA, and Nashville, TN music industry.

Jeff Gardner – Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar
Jeff Gardner is a nationally recognized songwriter, having had songs appear on many major cable networks. Jeff is also a well known face in the Atlanta, GA music community, an accomplished guitarist, and vocalist who has spent many days and nights either in the recording studio or sharing stages across the country with many music greats…

Jeff Spirko – Vocals, Fiddle, Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar
Jeff calls his style a lil’ bit Country, a lil’ bit Rock & Roll. Jeff is originally from Syracuse, NY, and moved to Atlanta in 2005 with an eye on the country music scene. Jeff’s songwriting is described as a mix between James Taylor and Stevie Wonder with a mix of Alabama. In Jeff’s short time in Atlanta he has played with many different acts including “South 70”, “zerochance”, Corey Sellers and many more.

The Band:
John Pritchett - Bass, Vocal
Ganesh Giri Jaya - Drums, Vocal
Shannon Pengelly – Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Keyboards

SSE is dedicated to bringing only the finest performances to the stage. Like all others who have experienced the performance of Sun Sets East live, the only thing that will come to mind is, “Where are they going to be playing next?”
