Sunset West is a power-pop band grown out of nothing but strong family ties. Growing up Jill and Mark were seemingly obsessed with music and harmony. At an early age both starting to mold there musical talents. Jill played piano and Mark played guitar. Through the years the two played many acoustic/piano shows but in late 2004 the siblings agreed that it was time to enlist the power that a full band would bring. The year of 2004 brought forth intense writing sessions and in February of 2005, Sunset West truly came to form. There debut full length album, ‘Hope On the Horizon’ is set to be released independently on August 2nd of 2005.
Sunset West’s sound is vibrant, fun, but most of distinctive. Jill’s stellar vocals quickly separates the band from all other rock, pop-punk, and indie acts. With the blend of voices between Jill and Mark that only the same gene pool could provide, Sunset West’s style is rock solid yet sensitive all at the same time. With there fierce and aggressive live show, they leave nothing to question. Sunset West is a high speed collision of Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Green Day, and Lit.
