Comprised of four guys from California, Sunshine Factory is band whose name perfectly matches their sound. Their debut single “Lower Away,” mixes a dose of Beach Boys-esque nostalgia with a dash of The Shins’ dreamy rock. Download it below and spend the weekend daydreaming.

Straight from the offices of Publicist Josh Bloom I received this 7" from The Sunshine Factory... The Sunshine Factory originated in Palmdale California as just a glimmer in the eyes from brothers Corey and Jordan Judge. Jordan had learned to play guitar and had been in a few bands before convincing his brother to form a band. They began auditioning other players . They soon hooked up with John Karwowski and Tony Hammons the band was now complete. They soon caught the eye of Steve Martin the head of Cul De Sac Kids Records and they released this 2 song 7". The music is what you would expect from a band called Sunshine Factory a lazy haze of love and life.. With an additional bit of sorrow that brings you down to earth.. I was impressed by Tidal Waves as the song sounded like something that Dan Hicks minus the Hot Licks would have written... - Punk Globe

Here comes some awesome dreamy pop from Los Angeles band Sunshine Factory. In the world of music, the band is fairly young, only fully coming together in 2009 as a complete band. They would self release a demo and start playing as many clubs as possible. Sunshine Factory just released a debut 7-inch with side A containing the song "Lower Away" and side B with the track "Tidal Waves."

The track "Lower Away" is a brilliant nugget of pop that delivers right to your ears. The piano is arranged perfectly and was my main draw to the song. It has this happy bounce to it that will sure have you playing the song numerous times. You can hear influences from everything like The Beach Boys, The Fray, and even Radiohead. Listen to "Lower Away" below.

With a band name like Sunshine Factory, optimistic tunes aren’t far behind. Brothers Corey and Jordan Judge along with John Karwoski and Tony Hammons from Palmdale offer their take on beachy pop music and in a scene where lo-fi gear and distortion is now amusingly associated with the genre, their solid throwback vibe to the Beach Boys is a breath of fresh air. It will take more than a few apathetic hipsters to taint the good name of power-pop. Sunshine Factory sounds like they’re on our side. - BuzzBands LA

Sunshine Factory is a preschool in Palmdale, or a band from Palmdale. For purposes that suit us, we will discuss the band. Sunshine Factory is made up of four members: brothers Corey and Jordan Judge, John Karwoski and Ainsley Hubbard. Sunshine Factory creates ethereal yet playful songs that bring a fresh interpretation to dreamy music. This sound is evident on the band’s debut 7-inch, “Lower Away” b/w “Tidal Waves,” containing two songs that delight, and promise a bright future for this aptly named group. Gigging around L.A. and building an audience all the way, the band has completed an EP which will contains two songs recorded solo by band-leader Corey Judge and performed on the grand piano donated in the 1960’s to Hollywood radio station KPFK by The Beach Boys.

The band continues to tour and is currently working on it's debut full length, and is collaborating with artist Los Angeles Ghost Ghost Teeth to release a book of illustrations with the soundtrack supplied by the Factory.
