Ottawa-born Rachel Sunter's solo project "Sunter" is a manifestation of ten year of songwriting over the course of dark periods in her early adult life. Sunter has performed on many stages in the east coast and Ontario with SoHo Ghetto, an indie-rock band whose company has provided Sunter with formidable opportunities and inspiration.
Inspired by Emily Haines, Thom Yorke and Coldplay, Sunter tends towards sad, sentimental songs, her distinct voice crooning over rich piano chords and elements of her 12 years of classical training.
Writing in both English and French, Sunter uses simple language and imagery to express vulnerable feelings of remorse, vengeance and nostalgia.
Her debut EP is being produced this spring and will be available Summer of 2013.
