SUPA HATAZ, Supa who? SUPA HATAZ is a crew from Montreuil (Paris area) composed of 3 guys from very (very) different backgrounds.
First of all, we have Bermuda-born Mc Troy, whose talent was forged with sound-systems and fuelled with his very (very) special background: a dream island, a heaven for rich wheeler-dealers but where extreme poverty and luxury hotels live close together.
When he arrived in France, he became the frontman of D.Abuz System, Supermen Lovers and Busta Funk.
He soon got acquainted with Argentinean Krak In Dub. DJ, but also jungle soldier with Mas I Mas and jungle/drum&bass activist for the Parisian music scene, Krak in Dub produced more than 30 EPs.
The third member of the crew is Waks. This former physics student made a drastic change in his career path and became a sound-engineer who worked with prestigious artists, such as Papa Wemba, Capleton, Daara J and Sly & Robbie. He can mix albums and live concerts like anybody else and has been stamping his musical signature on many reggae projects since the mid-90s.
The combination of these three different worlds results in a kick-ass sound, a voice, a flow, a flood of lyrics reflecting a reality somehow rough, sometimes violent, poetic or thrilling, but always tinged with humor and irony. SUPA HATAZ takes us for a trip to Bermuda…
On stage, SUPA HATAZ’ dubstep breakbeat is enhanced by videos, cartoons and live video recording carried out by V-Jo.
