Supergloo is a band of blues rock, noise-making minstrels from Boise via Nashville and London.

Biography

A LOT HAS CHANGED since then London-based Supergloo’s first lo-fi demo grabbed the attention of (Black Grape producer and bass player) Danny Saber in 2011. For the most part, Rob Andrew’s approach to song writing has not, though the sounds emerging from the band have multiplied, as have the number of people anticipating the results.

The band’s unmistakable, hypnotic formula was solidified on their debut album, Living Stereo, co-produced by Danny Saber and Adam Mosely (Beck, Garbage) at The Dust Brothers’ studio in LAThe album—which enjoyed time on US college radio indie charts—was critically heralded and spurred a modest but loyal following.

After moving the band from the UK to Nashville and finally to Boise, Supergloo now sounds like the work of a singer songwriter who’s clearly on top of his game and having a ball doing it, in a band that has emerged from the confines of working project style – as Andrew and producers Saber and Mosely did for much of the Living Stereo album – into an exhilarating new territory.

On the upcoming 2016 release, Astronaut, Supergloo displays a chemistry that stands out from the get go. Andrew’s vocals and delivery on guitar clearly benefit from the new closeness and intuitive sense of rhythm and purpose happening between the rest of the band—bass player Scot Alexander (Dishwalla), drummer John Brenner, and multi-talented keyboard player Steve Fulton.

Bolstered by occasionally heady lyrical introspection, this is musically the most playful, bold and passionate statement from Supergloo to date. Like on Living Stereo, but even more so here, the band has opted for takes where their bold imperfections underscore the albums brightest moments every time.

Where Andrew’s vocals were often hidden beneath layers of carefully constructed rhythm and fuzz guitar hooks on the first album, on Astronaut Andrew’s voice is now front and center, with no question of its intent.

Andrew has been sketching out the plan for Supergloo in planes, cars, hotels and cafes since long before the completion of Living Stereo, and with Alexander, Brenner and Fulton on board, the band has raised the bar for their own self-described hook n’ roll. Noise making minstrels they may be, but what a special noise that is.

Supergloo will be appearing at select festivals and club dates throughout 2016. Check www.supergloo.band for info. Check dates

HIGH

HIGH

This aint a place
to wind your mind up
this aint the time
to cry your eyes out
this aint the place they make things heal
all i want is how i feel

this aint the time
to run and hide it
i aint a fool you can
ride in the sky with
you and me gonna make it clear
all i want is what i hear

sometimes everything
is out of my mind
somebody’s tryin’ to get me down,
but all i am is high

there‘s something about
the way she shakes me
i don’t wanna change ?and you’re not gonna make me
you don’t know the way it feels
all i need is something real

it aint no lie baby
nothing can save me
i’m a devil inside
but you can’t really blame me
sweet little mama gonna let you fly
all i am is high

sometimes everything gets out of my mind
somebody’s tryin to get me down
but all i am is high
all I am is high
all i am is high
all I am is high

CARBURETOR

CARBURETOR

I always feel,
like a rolling stone
I always seem,
like a hurricane

don’t always know about the way i feel
can’t explain but i know its real

I know your prayin’ for,
some kind of miracle
just a low down dog,
some kind of criminal

don‘t always know about the way i feel
can’t explain but i know its real

i wanna lose you,
but i’m still holding on
don’t wanna love you,
but i’m still hangin on
don’t wanna tell you,
that i’m still holding on
i wanna hurt you,
my little carburetor

you gotta help yourself,
you gotta chase the pain
all them pins and needles
‘l make you lazy
gotta look inside your head
see what’s inside it
gotta kick your heart started
what about it baby

I always think about the way it seems
can’t explain but i know its me

I wanna lose you,
but i’m still holding on
don’t wanna love you,
but i’m still hangin on
don’t wanna tell you,
that i’m still holding on
I wanna hurt you,
my little carburetor

TRUTH

TRUTH

take the blame
and understand me
i’ve been lookin all over the place
but now i’ve landed

took a little time to get myself back home
your leavin’ your heart unowned

save me
from something tragic
i’ve been lookin all over the world
cause i want more magic

turn me into something cool,
make me fall in love with you

maybe i got you?
baby tell me true
make me hear
what i wanna hear,
tell me i got truth

hear me,
ya’ got a thousand reasons
why you treat me like
i got no feelings

give me something i can call my own
gimme your heart of stone

blame me
for simply askin’,
you been clawin away at my heart
till it’s in tatters

show me a way to let you know it’s gone
i’m leavin your heart alone

maybe i got you?
baby tell me true
make me hear what i wanna hear, tell me i got truth
I got truth

solo rhythm

maybe i got you?
baby tell me true
make me hear what i wanna hear, tell me
i got truth
I got truth
I got truth
I got truth

CHINA

CHINA

i’m walking on china
i’m living upside down
i’m walking on china
i’m living upside down

hey what do you know
i’ve been dancing all my life
now you come and ask me to let go
what’s in this psychadelic mind

if i let you take me there
will you promise not to wake me
nobody really cares
about the chances we are taking

i’m walking on china
i’m living upside down
i’m walking on china
i’m living upside down

hey mister bolan
whatever happened to your plans
we’ll ride the white swan,
the message still remains

and in our wildest dreams,
there is nothing like we’ve seen
and your mother wants to know
where you’ve found this colour scheme?

i’m walking on china
i’m living upside down
i’m walking on china
i’m living upside down

slow down
the merry-go-round
you watch the label
turning slower
and your mother’s oval eyes
slowly turn to oriental

if you tell her where you’ve been
and if she decides to listen
but nobody understands
you explain that this is simple

like walking on china
i’m living upside down
i’m walking on china
i’m living upside down
like walking on china
i’m living upside down

upside down
upside down
upside down

MESS

MESS

Got a messed up head
and a tombstone wish
You can sock-it-to-me baby
when i get like this
There’s something wrong
it aint hard to see
But you cant blame me
for messin’ with a good a thing

messin’ with a good a thing
messin’ with a good a thing
messin’ with a good a thing
you cant blame me for messin with a good thing

i heard about your sister
down in tennessee
in between the sheets
makin’ history
she got no idea
why the needle stings
but you cant blame the girl for messin with a good thing

messin’ with a good a thing
messin’ with a good a thing
messin’ with a good a thing
you cant blame me for messin with a good thing

i drive a hundred dollar car
with a thousand watt stereo
all the kids think its cool
i got a chick in Ontario
there’s nothin strange about the way i think
you cant blame me for messin with a good thing

messin’ with a good a thing
messin’ with a good a thing
messin’ with a good a thing

good a thing
meesin with a good a thing
meesin with a good a thing
meesin with a good a thing

you cant blame me for messin with a good thing
