Biography

Houston based SUPERNA (pronounced “su--perna”) meaning "other worldly", are a vastly original and dynamic female fronted rock band. Electri-fying songs full of heartfelt emotion, intensity and power drives SUPERNA’s dramatic modern sound. Fueled by a mix of heavy and complex guitars, vocal intense melodies and extraordinary changes, the music remains focused on memorable, haunting choruses and hypnotic rhythms. Not always running with the same set of musical colors, elements of Jazz, Latin, Techno, Chant, Reggae and Acoustic guitars are incorporated with Rock and Metal to create music that moves your body and mind. Powerfully low and uncommonly aggressive yet melodic female vocals give the music a totally fresh sound unlike typical female fronted acts in this genre. The song writing embodied with innovation is truly inspired, ingenious and all out rocking. Percussion, keys, samples, special effects and turntables add to the depth and versatility of the music contributing to SUPERNA's cutting edge sound. The lyrics reflect what all people think about, the different challenges, obstacles and emotions we all face, without completely spelling it out to the listener evoking interpretation and thought. Live, SUPERNA's performances are energetic and entertaining, dramatic and captivating with a highly talented musical vibe fronted by star-like sex appeal.
