Bio
Andre Sakai is an Egyptian/Japanese halfbreed, born in Tokyo, raised in Cairo. At the age of 18 he moved to tokyo for college, where he met his future band mates and formed the band 'Farida's Cafe' (www.faridascafe.com). When recording a demo for the band, he developed a keen interest in recording and sound engineering. This was further developed when studying electronic music at UCSC where he started to create electronic music under the moniker 'Super Samir'.
On his return to Tokyo, he teamed up with ex-Farida drummer, Ayato, forming a full fledged band under the same name.
Super Samir currently plays regularly in the greater Tokyo District and continues to release a steady stream of funky tracks. They also create tracks for various commercial clients such as MTV Japan (media), Beams (fashion) and Dentsu (advertising) as well as produce local bands in their spare time.
