Bio

"The Premier Tribute To Black Sabbath - Those are words that we take very seriously and we do our best to deliver on that statement", says Supertzar founder and bassist Jimmie Earls. "You can't walk away from one of our gigs saying that it wasn't a hell of a show."
Supertzar is a St. Louis-based tribute to the music of Black Sabbath during their "golden age" (1970-1978) when Ozzy Osbourne was the singer. Although the magic of the original Black Sabbath can never be duplicated, Supertzar celebrates the music and power of heavy metal's reigning lords of doom by recreating the look, sound and atmosphere of a classic Black Sabbath concert from the 1970's.
Supertzar's song list is full of Sabbath classics from the Ozzy era and they promise to rock the house with the best Black Sabbath tunes this side of Hell, including hits like Paranoid, Iron Man and War Pigs along with fan favorites Electric Funeral, N.I.B., Snowblind and many more. That makes for a unique and entertaining show, one that any diehard Black Sabbath fan will appreciate.
Supertzar re-creates not only the sound of vintage Black Sabbath, but the look and atmosphere as well including Danny's salute to Ozzy Osbourne's trademark fringe shirts and throwing peace signs toward the audience, Tim's crunching Iommi-esque guitar tone and the rhythm section of Jimmy and Jimmie providing the backbone of Supertzar's performance. The band has spent hours studying video footage as well as several live recordings from the 1970s. Ozzy Osbourne's vocal style in the 70s was very different from what most Ozzy fans know today, so careful detail has gone into recreating the vintage sound and not duplicating Ozzy's current style.
With actual Black Sabbath concerts being few and far between, Supertzar is like taking a time machine back to the 1970's to witness the full glory of a classic Black Sabbath concert - rekindling great memories in some while reaching a whole new generation of fans as well.
