SURA ORCHESTRA

Born in 1980, on December 7, Alexandru , a precocious talent, started studying piano at the music school “V. Poleacov”, two years later being accepted at the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Music High-School, in the cimbalom class of Prof. I. Grosu, and then in the class of Prof. V. Luta.From 1999 till 2005, he is a student at the State University of Art, the cimbalom class of Ph.D. candidate V. Sirbu. The level of performance achieved by the young musician, during a relatively short time, is simply to be envied. From the age of 12 years, he won many valuable awards at various national and international contests. Among these – the 1st Prize at the International Festival of Traditional Music ‘Constantin Brailoiu’ (Brashov, Romania, 1995), Golden Medal at the 1st Delphic Games (Moscow, Russia, 2000) – a total of 9 1st prizes at 10 contests. At the same age, he began performing with the most prestigious professional orchestras of the Republic of Moldova such as the ensembles of traditional dance music “JOC” and “LAUTARII”. Alexander had solo recitals at the halls of National Philharmonic and Organ Hall of Moldova, as well as Romania, Austria, Russia, Germany, Belarus, Israel, France, Spain, Switzerland and others. He masters an impetuous technique of performing and a rare sound of finesse, putting his heart and soul in everything that he does, and still controlling his emotions to be in full concordance with the musical message to be delivered to the audience. He is always colorable and convincing, conquering the audience with expressiveness, profoundness of the artistic idea, manner of performance, characteristic to the great performers. His repertoire is rich and various, including traditional, folk, pre-classical and classical music up to the creations of the composers of the 20th century
