Surecut Kids are a two-piece dj act from the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Using four turntables and an mpc, they blend party hip hop, funk, reggae, rock, soul, nu-breaks, swing, big beat, calypso, 80s and the odd cheesey number, using scratching and turntablism as their mixing techniques. This versatile style allows them to appeal to any crowd they happen to be in front of. Basically, they have all the ingredients to get a dancefloor looking lively.

Some of the acts the Kids have supported so far include Vanilla Ice, M.I.A., Russell from the Bloc Party (UK), Justice (FR), Ugly Duckling (USA), Dj Craze (USA), Blackalicious (USA), The Chemical Brothers (UK), Kid Koala (USA), Adam Freeland, Scratch Perverts (UK), Lyrics Born (USA), The Sounds (SWE), Busy P (FR), Greenskeepers, Freq Nasty (UK/NZ), The Black Seeds (NZ), Midnight Juggernauts, Urthboy, Ajax, Muscles, Jonathon Wall, Donavon Frankenreiter (USA), Phil K (UK), Aniki, The Winnie Coopers, Hip Pocket, Tom Thumb, 2 Dogs (Resin Dogs), Butterfingers and more.

Many of these supports were during festival appearances. Some of the festivals they have performed at include Parklife, BBQ Breaks, The Quiksilver Pro Show, Future Music Festival, Killer Breaks, Round and Round, and Wonderland.

The duo currently have residencies at Uber in West End, Brisbane, as well as the Coolangatta Hotel, Element in broadbeach, and Baja in Coolangatta.
The boys have also been known to make appearances at venues like Kalibre and Bar Soma in Fortitude Valley, Solbar in Coolum, Swell Palm Beach and a list of other local venues.

Prior to this, while living in Melbourne, they ran several successful nights at Bluebar on Chapel ST, E55 in the city, Laundry in Fitzroy, Metropol in St Kilda, and also played at other venues such as Revolver, the Playhouse and the Workshop.

The boys are no stranger to travel either, having played events in Brisbane, Byron, Sydney, Melbourne, Mt Hotham and even a new years eve party in Papua New Guinnea.

But whether it’s on stage in front of a huge crowd or in a small cosy bar its obvious that the pair absolutely love what they do. Their love of rocking a party is plain to see and makes for an entertaining show every time. Heads bouncing to the beat, with one hand on the mixer and the other hand furiously rifling through their records, their enthusiasm is infectious.

The Surecut Kids are two of the hardest working djs around and you will understand why when you catch one of their sets.
