Songwriter and Giftgiver, Susan D. Wiseman

by John P. Allen

Meet Susan D. Wiseman...just a housewife with a music ministry. She is an extremely patriotic person with a penchant for music. Her brand new release “It is a Soldier” is a heart felt passionate dedication to the U.S. Soldier.

Through her music ministry called "Christ-Centered Pieces", Susan records out of passion and conviction and gives her songs away as a gift. She has done many songs…..there are several Tribute songs ie…"Remembering Pearl" ( Pearl Harbor ) & many other Christian based tunes.

In honor of all the men who have fought and serve now, including her son David, “It is a Soldier” is a song that is her way of saying thank you. It is a humble attempt to share her thoughts, prayers, and Patriotism...in song, from a mom's perspective.

“I just want our veterans to know that there are many of us who so greatly appreciate the service to our country and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice” says Wiseman. “I know that, as just an individual, it sometimes seems like there's nothing we can do except to let the troops & our veterans know how much we honor & appreciate their service.”

Just a housewife aged 50 and married with four children, ages 32, 30, 23, and 20, Wiseman says that she is not a musician, just a lover of God, piano and music.

It is the Soldier (Lyrics)

It is ..."The Soldier"...in the mirror,
Who'll say..."goodbye"...to me, today.
It is ..."The Soldier"...not the man, or boy,
Or, the little GI Joe...he used to play.

It is ..."The Soldier"...who'll take his first steps,
That I...have come to see.
It's for..."The Soldier"...Lord, I'm asking...
Make him...ALL...he needs to be.

For, it is..."The Soldier"...of this GREAT NATION,
That must face...the unknown.
It is ..."The Soldier"
Who...may not be...coming home.

But, it is..."The Soldier"...who gives us the Freedom
To stand...beneath....this Flag.
It is..."The Soldier"...who carries Honor,
And, makes this nation...Proud!

It is..."The Soldier"...that stands before me now,
Not...the boy...he used to be.
Take him...in Your Hands,
Use him...for Your Plans...
Make him...ALL...that he...can be!

But, please...don't take..."This Soldier"
Anywhere...if...You're not there.
Lord, make sure....he knows...everywhere he goes,
He is loved...and, we're...So PROUD!

And, please...don't take..."This Soldier"
Into the battle...of defeat.
If...he...has to fall...be it by Your Hands
Be it...ONLY...to his knees.

'Cause, God ...it is..."The Soldier"
That keeps...this Nation...FREE.
Yes, I know...it is..."The Soldiers"
Who...PROTECT...our Liberty!

It is..."The Soldiers"...that stretch...across this land,
Far...as the eye...can see.
It is..."The Soldier"...of the past,
It is..."The Soldier"...yet...to be.

So, please...don't take..."This Soldier"
Lord...he's EVERYTHING...to me,
But, if...he has to fall...bring "This Soldier"...Home
To ...the LAND...OF...THE...FREE!

'Cause, God...it is..."The Soldier"
That keeps...this Nation...FREE.
Yes, I know...it is..."The Soldier"
That...PROTECTS..."MY"...Liberty!

So, please...don't...take..."This Soldier"
Into...pain & agony,
If...You...need another "Soldier"...Lord,
Please...don't...take my son...
Take...ME !

Angelic Music – A Spiritual Gift to Soldiers

Sometimes I come across people who really impress me with their endearing spiritual life purpose—composer, musician, singer, Susan Wiseman is one of those special souls. Her “FREE CD” that she gives away to veterans and their families is entitled “It is the Soldier.” It is a true creative labor of love; a gift for the heart and the spirit if there ever was one.

I sat mesmerized listening to it the morning that I wrote this review. It was raining outside and overcast with dark clouds with thunder pounding in the background—yet, in my room where I was listening to her music, it was all sunshine and brightness. She has created a heart rendering patriotic recording that reflects love and hope and spiritual values. This is a CD that she could charge $20 for and you would be getting more than your money’s worth but she is determined to “gift” others with her ministry of music.

The music is kind of new age in the best sense but it is also something else that is hard to put your finger on. I tried all morning to figure it out until I went to her wonderful website and realized that what I was trying to figure out was called LOVE. This CD is nothing but pure LOVE and that is what makes this music so special. She honors veterans with her words and music but every patriotic American will find this CD to be moving and entertaining.

Susan Wiseman is the "Tribute Lady"
by Susan Wiseman

Since Susan Wiseman's song "It is the Soldier" appeared on Veterans Today we have had a tremendous response from our readers. Over 1,800 people have downloaded her moving and inspired music FREE of charge on Veterans Today.

We asked Susan to write a follow-up of her experiences since we featured her on Veterans Today last year. Thank you, Susan, for your heart and your passion for our soldiers and veterans! VT editor, Morgan Barker

Since Veteran's Today's article in March 2005, SPC David Dale, Susan D. Wiseman,"It Is The Soldier" and "The Tribute Lady" have become names & terms beloved by veterans, and, this mom's life has been anything but ordinary.

Just when I'd finished 33 years of raising children, and, looking forward to "retiring" & enjoying my hobbies of music & raising Japanese Koi fish, I was suddenly catapaulted into service, honoring this great Nation & its veterans...

My song, "It Is The Soldier" in honor of my youngest son, SPC David Dale, has now become the foundation of my online music ministry, "Christ-Centered Pieces" - Given Gifts, which now reaches veterans across this land.

Susan D. Wiseman, recently honored with the title, "The Tribute Lady.". And, most recently, the AWARD for www.itisthesoldier.com " It Is The Soldier " -Never Forget- TRIBUTES 2005-CD of the Year AWARD Presented by the Military Writer's Society of America!

When I awoke at early one fall morning, back in 2004...just days before my youngest son, David would be sworn into the Army, little did I know the events that lie ahead for this simple housewife & mom and my songs from my heart, which have now turned into a full-time online music ministry titled, "Christ-Centered Pieces" - Given Gifts...where ALL downloads are FREE. www.thetributelady.com

This service to our veterans & nation all began, the day after 9/11, when I wrote a song called, "God Will Prevail - The Victim's Anthem." Just my thoughts, my faith that God will prevail...The song quickly became known as "The Victim's Anthem."

I remember asking my Sunday school class to PRAY...because I knew God, was calling me to get this song to the victims & their families...but HOW? At that time we were looking at some possible 5,000 victims. I had no way to make cds so my husband and I decided to record the song and put it on the internet in an effort to express my condolences to the victim's & their families, along with millions of others around the world. It went on the internet...with the hopes it would be of comfort to them. Within days, it went worldwide...rippling throughout the firefighting & police communities & beyond.

Later that next week, while sitting in church on a Wednesday evening I sat crying, as did so many others, as we remembered the families. I remember thinking,"I Will Keep You Alive!" Thus another tribute song was born.

Many folks began writing and asking for more of my music so some love songs were then added and my own website developed.

The comments began pouring in from all over the world and were extremely overwhelming and humbling. One of the first firefighters to respond to the song, God Will Prevail, was firefighter Captain Lee Muller in Aiea, Hawaii. Over the next several months, we would become dear friends, exchanging each other's lives & cultures via email.

Then in the summer of 2002, we would take the first of many trips to come...to deliver my CDs into the very hands of those who inspired the songs. I took my first trip to New York to pass out 100 cds to any firefighter or policeman I could find...my personal, "Thank You" to them, and, a gift of condolence.

We also traveled to Hawaii for the first time, to meet my "guys" at Engine 10. Captain Muller's friendship soon inspired a new song, "You Rescued Me" the second verse of that tribute, was penned in reference to the firefighter's heroic efforts on 9/11.

Later that fall, we returned to Oahu. This time, we visited the Arizona Memorial. That was the most humbling experience of my life. We visited on the anniversary of 9/11. There were huge beautiful purple wreaths placed in the memorial from Vietnam Veterans, 9/11 victims' families and WW II Veterans. We experienced the reverent laying of leis upon the surface of the water. Standing over the sunken Arizona, I was overwhelmed with emotions, then later after returning in November 2002 "Remembering Pearl" (Harbor) became yet another tribute song.

Over the next few years, many more songs have been written. Many in tribute to friends and family, also.

Then, when I awoke, early one fall morning, in 2004 (just days before my youngest son, David, would be sworn into the Army) I awoke in tears, feeling like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders and could not stop crying. - Veteran's Today.com

" My Gift Of Song - The Tribute Lady "

Since 2001, after first sharing "God Will Prevail - The Victim's Anthem" ... a song written the morning after 9/11...this simple housewife's life...has been anything but ordinary.

Having lost a cousin in the Vietnam war, I've always known the price of freedom.

With two other cousins career military, and, now my youngest son, SPC David Dale deployed to Iraq ... the need to do our part, along with answering the call of God...to share this "gift" with others...is our way of "Supportin our Troops" and, veterans.

"It Is The Soldier" ... SPC David Dale, Susan D. Wiseman - "The Tribute Lady" have become names & terms beloved by veterans, and, listeners all across this country.

Having passed over a half a million downloads online last year... and, allowing countless websites to freely use Susan's music...Susan has for the last 3 years, performed all across this land by request...for Firefighters, Police, Rescue, The Traveling Vietnam Wall in Upper Sandusky, Ohio...for the Pen-T 9/11 Memorial Dedication Ceremony in Green Bay, Wisconsin the first 9/11 Memorial constructed in America, a "Soldier Party" for soldiers, Fort Hood Troops by TMFF, Georgia State Pearl Harbor Survivor's Remembrance Day 2005 & 2006, churches, weddings, private concerts & most recently, by request of a project for the victims & their families...Susan & Larry performed LIVE for the 9/11 5th - Anniversary Dedication Ceremony at Ground Zero in New York, for the induction of "America's 9/11 Memorial Quilt" into the permanent World Trade Center Museum, soon to be under construction.

My CDs are NO CHARGE...I make as many as I can afford to take for each event we're requested to perform at.

1,000 CDs were given to the 9/11 victims & their families...a 5th Anniversary 9/11 - Special Edition double CD of Susan's Tribute songs.

My personal " THANK YOU " to ALL who serve this GREAT NATION!

For the 9/11 5th Anniversary Dedication Ceremony, I put together a DOUBLE CD - SPECIAL EDITION - which included the " It IS The Soldier" cd, as well as the newest CD ... titled, "The Fallen"...which includes several new tribute songs, inspired by fallen soldiers, as well as many more trumpet instrumentals of Susan's songs performed by my husband, Larry S. Wiseman.

I had 1,000 of the 9/11 - 5th Anniversary Edition produced and gave them away to the victim's, families and firefighters/police/rescue, dignitaries in attendence.

In 2001, prior 9/11...Just when I'd finished 33 years of raising children, and, looking forward to "retiring" & enjoying my hobbies of music & raising Japanese Koi fish, I was suddenly catapulted into service, honoring this great Nation & its veterans...after sharing my song, " God Will Prevail - The Victim's Anthem".

It soon became obivious this music ministry was a calling of God, and "I" was to share this " Gift of Song" with anyone desiring to hear these inspired "Christ-Centered Pieces" - Given Gifts.

My song, "It Is The Soldier" in honor of my youngest son, SPC David Dale, has now become the foundation of my online music ministry, "Christ-Centered Pieces" - Given Gifts, which now reaches veterans across this land.

And, the songs just keep coming...many inspired by veterans & soldiers...all centered on my deep faith in God & enormous love for this GREAT NATION!
