Susan's voice has been described as "A graceful blend of light and shade, with beautiful height and richness of colour". Her sound is a cross between Sarah McLachlan, Evanescence, Trisha Yearwood, Dashboard Confessional, David Ford and Amos Lee, with a dash of classical thrown into the mix.

Biography

Susan is a singer/songwriter from Manchester, UK.

She trained as a classical singer for 5 years, but after extensive performance in the classical world, she decided she didn't want to sing other people's songs anymore, she had too much to say herself!

So for the past few years, she has been writing her own material, in the acoustic/folk genre.

Here are some comments:

"Listening to 'Lost In The Wilderness' still sends a tingle down my spine!"

"Wow! You have an incredible voice!! Very powerful indeed. This is very good, very good indeed!"

Lyrics

Lost in the Wilderness

Written By: Susan Hayes

I might not paint my nails every day
And I might not wear my hair in quite the right way
And I might not act like the other girls that you’ve known
But I can’t go on pretending it will be alright when it won’t
Cos I know I’m so right for you
I just wish you could see it too

Lost in the wilderness with you
That’s where I want to be
Lost in the wilderness with you
Oh, and feeling your sweet caress
Vulnerability and tenderness
Lost in the wilderness with you

I know we said we’d be friends and see where it went
But this decision it was yours, for me to walk away or accept
And if I saw you with another woman, it would undo
The very threadwork of me, that I keep hidden from view

I want to touch deep inside of you
Experience every breath of you
Sense, touch, taste
And be

Lost in the wilderness with you
That’s where I want to be
Lost in the wilderness with you
Oh, and feeling your sweet caress
Vulnerability and tenderness
Lost in the wilderness with you
