Tiger Lil is Susan Hutcheson, an independent Toronto-based singer-songwriter who has been performing for over ten years. NXNE Festival Program Manager Crispin Giles says, “...songstress Susan Hutcheson (Tiger Lil) reveals her muse with a compelling and powerful musical grace.” .

Tiger Lil’s music blends elements of folk, classical and pop music, melding lyrical melodies and lush harmonies with clever, poetic lyrics. The result is a combination that is unique, expressive and beautiful.

Tiger Lil has played at such Toronto venues as The Rivoli, The Drake, Mitzi’s Sister, the Free Times Cafe, C’est What, and the El Mocambo. Her talents were featured in a Rogers Cable Profile, and she has done touring in Ontario and Europe. Wherever she plays, Tiger Lil enchants with her voice, which has been described as ‘beautiful’ and ‘ethereal’.

She has worked with in the studio with such musicians and producers/engineers as Michael Jack ( Bono, Nelly Furtado, Rush, The Trews, Anne Murray), Mike Kerwin (Sarah Slean), and David Bennett (formerly of the Philosopher Kings).

Tiger Lil is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, as well as York University, where she earned her ARCT for piano and a B.F.A. Mus. Degree. She has written with, shared a stage with, and/or played with acclaimed musicians such as The Good Lovelies, Bryce Kulak, Ember Swift, Andrea Romalo, Darrelle London, Graydon James (of Graydon James and the Young Novelists) and Jeff Alan Greenway.

Tiger Lil is currently working on a new CD, which will be released in 2012.
