My music is a blending of alternative, country and pop sounds. I sometimes have fun ukulele parts; other times have moving piano-driven songs, followed by rockin' lead guitar-oriented ones. I tend to keep some cover songs in the mix and am always willing to take requests.
I have been influenced by The Eagles, Elton John, Gladys Knight, Owl City, Gabe Dixon, the Beatles, and Cece Winans, to name a few.
The thing that most sets apart my band from other bands is that almost all the members are my kids! The youngest is 17, plays electric and upright bass; the next plays drums-even played on Jay Leno's Tonight Show at age 16; the next is a lead singer who has performed with six Atlanta show bands, most recently with Atlanta Party Band. Their names are Preston Shewbridge, Daniel Shewbridge and Brittany Shewbridge. Preston and I write the originals we sing. I play keys and acoustic guitar and we bring a lead guitarist and often an extra background vocalist/keyboardist to most gigs. We can perform solo and duo as well as full band.
My history has included modeling; backing vocals for Kansas, AD(Kerry Livgren), Celine Dion('96 Olympics), Brian Littrell, James Brown. I have recorded countless jingles and studio sessions in Atlanta, GA.
I started writing my own stuff in my mid-teens. I and have recorded four albums. The first was produced by Kerry Livgren; three others have followed that, in between having four children. The latest full length CD is a gospel rock project entitled, ALABASTER ROAD, available on digital download sites as well as from CDBaby or I also have a recent single on itunes under Susan Shewbridge(Praying For You).
My bandmembers learned at an early age to play primarily because I have led church bands most of my adult life, and I utilized and developed their skill in that setting. They now each in demand as players and singers!
We are looking forward to playing out much more together now that the youngest member is almost through with high school. We are available on weekends, and locally, throughout the week.
