Susan Wylde's tune - "Don't Call me Cougar(unless you're gonna love me)" was nominated for an EWORLD MUSIC AWARD 2011 - the awards are run by the producers of the Golden Globe Awards and the Spirit Film Awards. These awards take place in Los Angeles during Grammy Week. The EWORLD Music Awards are dedicated to promoting independent music and the public can vote for all categories.Don't Call Me Cougar was written by Susan Wylde and co produced by Susan Wylde and 2011 Grammy Nominee - Eddie Bullen. Susan has been selected as one of twenty pop/blues/jazz/adult contemporary vocalists from across the globe for a compilation disc. This disc will be released in Hongkong, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan etc. - November 2010. It will also be available through digital download. The compilation disc is called Absolute Voices 2. This disc will also feature Grammy Award winning artists like Sarah MacLaughlin, Norah Jones, Sade, Alison Krauss etc. "Don't Call Me Cougar (unless you're gonna love me) is available on CD Baby/itunes etc. This amazing dance/pop tune is receiving airplay and great reviews across the globe.
Susan's new blues CD - co produced by Susan Wylde and 2010 Blues Juno(Canadian Grammy) winner Jack deKeyzer is available. It is called "In The Light" - 12 tunes (half originals, half covers) features some of the world's finest blues and jazz musicians. Check it out at - Susan Wylde is a vocalist/songwriter/pianist. She has lived and/or performed in such culturally rich locations as Europe, Thailand, Hawaii, Japan and Cuba, USA, Canada, China, Bahamas. Susan is a classically trained pianist and a graduate of the Western Conservatory of Music. Her love of singing lead her into performing in musical theatre at a young age in Canada.Susan has worked in the pop/dance world as well as the blues/jazz world. Her CD, co-written with Eddie Bullen, is called ‘Shambhala’. The 14 tracks on this CD draw from pop,R&B,jazz and blues. Susan’s songwriting and voice speak of clarity, vibrancy, emotional depth and soulfulness. "Not a copy act, she focuses attention on the individuality of her own artistic sensibilities. Susan's soulful voice, insightful lyrics and unique arrangements satisfy the senses" - DOWNBEAT. Shambhala has already been nominated for an indie award and several festivals in Canada and outside Canada have invited her to perform on their mainstage. Susan’s writing partner, Eddie Bullen, is a Juno award-winning producer(Deborah Cox, Fefe Dobson, Liberty Silver, Maestro, Sway etc.), writer and performer. In 2008, Eddie was chosen for the job of music director for the Beijing Summer Olympics music gala. Susan has shared the stage or studio with the following musicians: Charlie Wilson, Julian Fauth, Delfeayo Marsalis, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Hilario Duran, Simon Wilcox, Brian Griffith, Danny Lockwood, Emm Gryner, Esthero, Harrison Kennedy, Grace Kelley, Diana Braithwaite, Chris Whiteley, Jack Dekyzer, Jeff Rogers, Marissa Lyndsey, Adam Soloman, Adrean Farrugia, Kate Schutt, Eddie Bullen, Jochim Nunez, Ken Whiteley, Reg Schwager, Don Thompson, Roberto Sibony, Melissa McClelland, Kevin Dempsey, Mark Cashion, Cindy Fairbank, Alec Fraser, Dave McMorrow, Donna Grantis etc. This year has been great for the Susan Wylde Quartet. Highlights are : performing in Japan, New Orleans,Miami, New York City,Hawaii, Korea and Cuba ,opening for Grammy Award winner Delfeayo Marsalis, Indie Music Award nomination. Susan is the Creator, producer and artistic director for Goddess Charity Events. These events have raised thousands of dollars for women’s and children’s shelters and have helped World Vision and several environmental charities.
