Susy Sundborg

Susy Sundborg grew up in a small town in Eastern Washington and started singing before she could talk. Her parents joke that she wrote her first songs in the shopping cart at the grocery store. With 5 siblings, it is safe to say that Susy developed her need to be a performer, or perhaps the center of attention, at a young age. After her 2nd grade teacher donated her piano to the family, Susy began taking piano lessons. She began writing music at 14 with her best friend. Elena was the lyricist and Susy wrote the melodies, harmonies and accompaniments. They would eat their lunches in the band room, where there was a piano they could sit at and play.

After several musicals, choir concerts and community performances, Susy headed to college in the small town of Ellensburg, WA. In college, Susy was a state finalist for the John Lennon Songwriting Competition 2 years in a row and won several campus wide music competitions. Susy got the travel bug and took each summer abroad where she lived and studied in Spain, worked in Switzerland and taught music for 3 summers in London, England.

After college, with a Music, Spanish and Marketing degree, Susy set forth into the real world to get a real job. She worked with an Ad Agency and eventually landed a job with Microsoft, in Seattle, WA. After realizing that the corporate technology world was not her cup of tea and with dreams of giving her music career a go, Susy eventually quit working with Microsoft and took the road less traveled, pursuing something that she loved. Susy now lives in the cozy neighborhood of Capital Hill in Seattle, WA, spends the evenings playing at such places as The Triple Door, The White Rabbit and the occasional set at Vito’s. She released her first EP entitled Susy Sundborg, which has 4 tracks and is free to download. She is involved with The Bushwick Club, a group of songwriters who write songs inspired by classic novels. Susy is currently working on her first album, which is set to release at the end of the summer 2012. Stay tuned, there is much more to be added to this story.
