"I'm Not Afraid"-played on Independent Muzic Movement radio show.

Born and raised in the city of Detroit, Layla Suzè Goddard didn’t have to look far for inspirations of raw talent. Singing at the young age of four, those around her knew she was destined for greatness. Not only did SuZè hone her singing ability, she was able to teach herself to play the acoustic guitar, and continued to excel in her education. As a result, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. SuZè has held a solo gospel concert at the age of 12, and soon joined the renowned Mosaic Youth Theatre. She was also a finalist at the WDIV Super Singer contest, and more recently at Uof M’s “Michigan Idol.”
Her voice and singing style is reminiscent of the highly acclaimed India Arie. Her rich harmonies, deep soul, crisp delivery, and meaningful lyrics allow SuZè to connect directly to her music and fans. “My music is my freedom, it’s a way to keep myself honest, and it’s the best form of expression that forces me to be fearless. I actually don’t want my music to ‘fit’ in any genre. I want it to provoke emotions and thoughts. I want it to be someone’s plane ticket when they can’t afford to go…” says SuZè of what she wants her music to portray to others. -SuZè has completed her demo and is in the process of shopping record labels. She has currently performed at Karizma Kouture, the Screaming Eagle in Ypsilanti with the Spliff 69 band, and radio podcast show “Independent Muzic Movement” hosted by Scott E. Mac.
