Dry Up Betty

Written By: Suzanne McKenney

There’s a cute patootie livin’ on my block.
The boys are pretty crazy when she starts to rock.
Chitty-chatty Betty is her name off the floor.
Cause her mouth is flappin’ faster than a wind up toy.
When the weekend rolls around and things are set to jump
Everybody’s shoutin’ Dry Up, Betty, Betty, dry up!

They’re shoutin’ Dry Up! Ooh Betty, shake and shimmy.
Burn up, tear out some rockabilly!
Fly up! You’ve got that groovey movin’ gallop.
All kinds of cats are gonna line up! You’ll wanna run up!
Everybody’s shoutin’ Dry Up, Betty, Betty, dry up!

You can bet she’s talkin’ when she’s clears the hall.
Completely unaware that folks are waitin’ to brawl.
Her mouth is moving faster than the speed of sound.
You can see her body feel the rockin’ rhthym around.
When she starts to jitter then the jive is set.
Oh, you can hear her screamin’ for the floor and you bet!

Rumor has it Betty spoke uncomfortably until her momma played her girl an old 33.
Her momma said that Betty started feelin’ the beat.
And then that little girl was talking off of her feet.

Everybody’s clappin’ as she reaches the floor.
The frenzy building higher as they’re yellin’ for more.
She’ll go into a twist that makes the bartenders cry
And then a screamin’ meamie cut up with a cat standin’ by.
is like champagne that’s getting ready to pop.
All cause pretty, chitty-chatty Betty shut up!

Dry up Betty, Betty Dry up…Dry up Betty, Betty Dry up…Jive up Betty, Betty jive up.
Dry up Betty, Betty dry up….Fly up Betty, Betty fly up
Oh it’s a rockin’ riot rile up, dry up, Betty dry up!

Everybody’s clappin’ as she reaches the floor.
The frenzy building higher as they’re yellin’ for more.
She’ll go into a twist that makes the bartenders cry
And then a screamin’ meamie cut up with a cat standin’ by.
The place is like champagne that’s getting ready to pop.
All cause pretty, chitty-chatty Betty shut up!
Oh it’s a rockin’ riot rile up, dry up, Betty dry up!

Swing Daddy

Written By: Suzanne McKenney

Fast wielding Freddie, he’s the man about the scene.
He knows the deuce, he’s slick and loose, You've seen him in your dreams.
He’s feeling pretty mighty and he’s walking pretty tall.
He’s the hottest cat with the coolest look. He’s the wonder of us all.

CHORUS
He loves to swing ding daddy.
Swing Daddy. Swing ding daddy.
Feel the rapid pace of the juicy bass he’s a
Swing Daddy. Swing ding Daddy!
Swing Daddy. Swing ding Daddy!
(8 bars DRUMS)

Big Nifty Shifty, that guy is money on the move.
Loves a crazy show and away we go.
That cat has nothing more to prove.
He’s lovely with the ladies and he loves to jump and wail.
And if you’re in the soup and end up in the coop, the dude will bail you out of jail.

He’s love to swing ding daddy.
Swing Daddy. Swing ding daddy.
Feel the rapid pace of the juicy bass he’s a
Swing Daddy. Swing ding Daddy!
Swing Daddy. Swing ding Daddy!
(8 bars drum)
Sweet, slicky Nicky, she’s the girl with all the curves.
She’s got the eyes of all the guys
The princes and the perves.
She’s cleanin’ up the dance floor. She’s jumpin’ for the show.
If you catch a night when she’s in the light the girl will get you on the go.
CHORUS

She loves to swing ding daddy.
Swing Daddy. Swing Kit-Katty.
Feel the rapid pace of the juicy bass she’s a
Swing Katty. Swing Kit Katty
Bridge
If you want some satisfaction action on the floor.
Swing on down your Daddy town and
You’ll catch all you want and more.

The Black Sedan

Written By: Suzanne McKenney

Inside a black sedan with leather stretched and tan
Two hand intense with rapture gripped.
Another hand appeared that stroked a boyish beard
And from the last champagne was sipped.
He reached around her waist and pulled her to his face
She giggled eerily and still.
And as if hypnotized, completely mesmerized,
He couldn’t feel her heartless chill.

It seems this vixen mal had charmed this boyish doll.
His sweet commitment she would earn.
He was the kind she knew would find the follow through.
He had the innocence she’d burn.

She’d spin her web and fall in
Bed enticing every feeble follower
Oblivious to love
Then lie to their face, set her dominoes in place
And watch them make the fatal shove.

The boy extremely wrought, began a plan he thought
Would work to break her husbands grip
The gift between his ears was knowledge of the gears
That soon would cause a deadly trip.
Repeating he was mad, she yelled and called him “cad”.
But still insisting it would work.
He made her say she’d try to plan the man’s goodbye.
She barely hid her deadly smirk.

They planned the dark charade. Meticulously played
In blame her lover would be bathed.
When pushing on the brakes, the last that they would take
From the sedan she’d leave unscathed,

She’d spun her web and fall in
Bed enticing every feeble follower
Oblivious to love.
Then lie to their face, set her dominoes in place
And watch them make the fatal shove.

The winding cliffs had creeped as down below the deep
She barked her poison bile, her husband all the while
Would only fight the driving wind.
It was the stormy night that caused the purple light the
Fated car began to spin.
And with a single shout, the spin had knocked her out.
She’d never charm a boy again.

Her husband seeing black was fading slowly back as the
sea cliff closer came.
He couldn’t risk it all, the pavement broke his fall the black
sedan no more remained.

She’d spin her web and fall in
Bed enticing every feeble /follower
Oblivious to love
Then lie to / their face, set her dominoes in place
And watch them make the fatal shove.

Rattlesnake Bake

Written By: Suzanne McKenney,Stuart Clow, Stuart Clow

Rattlesnake Bake, cactus stew.
That down home cookin’, that’s my hometown crew.
Ridin’ through the desert on a highway snake
To get a heapin’ helpin’ of that rattlesnake bake.
Shovel in the cactus, all that I can chew.
I’ll wear a barbed wire bib and only rattlesnake will do.

Grandma(Grandma) said she erupted from a mountainside.
Walked around the desert all alone an cried.
‘Til she met a star who took her for a ride.
A tricky little dude who knew a lot about his food, he would say.
He cooked his own special way. And at the end of the day
The meat inside the pot would be some crazy thing he got underground.
Or from some tree that was downed. Or even road kill he found.
Like praire dog poutine and lemon lizard was routine for a bite.
Bet that’s where I got my appetite.
(I love that…)

Rattlesnake Bake, cactus stew.
That down home cookin’, that’s my home town crew.
Ridin’ through the desert on a highway snake
To get a heapin’ helpin’ of that rattlesnake bake.
Shovel in the cactus, all that I can chew.
I’ll wear a barbed wire bib and only rattlesnake will do.

Fired (Fired)…said that his grandma loved a BBQ.
She had a couple tricks he paid attention to.
Started with a savory, marinade ragoo.
She’d soak her turkey vulture breast then feed the BBQ the rest.
A sort of “blackened” obsessed. A charcoal queen of the west.
Her spicy buzzard bolognaise was mother’s milk on which I was raised.
And bobcat with a rosemary braise.
My favorite was her coyote glaze.
The recipe is still unclear, but her chameleon cakes were revered.
You can bet that they disappeared.

I love my jack rabbit juice in the morning.
I love my scorpion mousse in the afternoon.
I love those lip smackin’ gila moster fingers.
Followed by some rippin’ raccoon.

Rattlesnake Bake, cactus stew.
That down home cookin’, that’s my home town crew.
Ridin’ through the desert on a highway snake
To get a heapin’ helpin’ of that rattlesnake bake.
I’ve tried those porcupine poppers, but they’re just too few.
It’s grandma’s down home cooking I’m attracted to…
Grandma (Grandma)
Shovel in the cactus, all that I can chew.
I’ll wear a barbed wire bib and only rattlesnake will do.

Veronica Lake

Written By: Stuart Clow

Blond waterfall across one eye.
Cigarette dangles on a breathy sigh.
She’s the head mistress at the school for cool.
Red lips and garters that’s the golden rule.

Snap that tail slate. Check the gate.
Hang around the commissary, just can’t wait.
Gotta introduce me. Get her to seduce me.
Cause man oh man, for goodness sake.
The boys got it bad for Veronica Lake.

Just a girl brought in to prop up “Ladd”.
Tell ya, that doll, she ain’t so bad.
But poor Miss Lake couldn’t make the scene.
She ended up broken just like Norma Jean.

Snap that tail slate. Check the gate.
Hang around the commissary, just can’t wait.
Ya gotta introduce me. Get her to seduce me.
Cause man oh man, for goodness sake.
The boys got it bad for Veronica Lake.

Veronica Lake, man she’s the one.
Veronica Lake gets me all undone.
My hands started shakin’. My knees started quakin’.
Cause man oh man, for goodness sake.
The boys got it bad for Veronica Lake.

Last night me & V went for drinks on a cloud.
Gable showed up. Dude, three’s a crowd.D
Come on Rett, this ain’t no fun.A
How about over there? Nice table for one.

Snap that tail slate. Check the gate.
Hang around the commissary, just can’t wait.
Gotta introduce me. Get her to seduce me.
Cause man oh man, for goodness sake.
The boys got it bad for Veronica Lake.

Veronica Lake, man she’s the one.
Veronica Lake gets me all undone.
My hands started shakin’. My knees started quakin’.
Cause man oh man, for goodness sake.
The boys got it bad for Veronica Lake.
