Swamp Angels Acoustic

Swamp Angels Acoustic

BandAmericanaAcoustic

The sound of a drunk lurching home at 4 AM, bumping into garbage cans, and his sweet sloshing dreams of redemption after heaving through the door, crashing on the couch, and wheezing and whistling to the gauzy gray dawn ceiling. Or: Keith Richards and Tom Waits in the boneyard to see Rick Danko...

I Lost You at Hello

Written By: Otis Wellington

I LOST YOU AT HELLO

I lost you at hello
I saw your face and I lost control
You¡¦re everything I ever wanted
Opened my mouth to say hi
I said I want you I love you let¡¦s have a child
Trust me on this: that never happens
Come on back, it¡¦ll be all right
Come on back, it¡¦ll be all right

Guess I gave myself away
Like to that other girl yesterday
I want you to know that I am sorry

Was it something in my eyes
My trembling lips or my shaking thighs
Or the way I fell down on my knees before you?

Come on back, it¡¦ll be all right
Come on back, it¡¦ll be all right

Solo instrumental

You¡¦re my cabin in the woods
M roaring fire and my loving looks
As we wake up warm on a cold winter morning
Winter sunlight on your face
Makes me want to be no other place
Than in your arms, forever

Come on back, it¡¦ll be all right (4X)

If You Think You're Fucked Up, You Are

Written By: Otis Wellington (Ted Cleary)

IF YOU THINK YOU¡¦RE FUCKED UP, YOU ARE

Tempo: slow

When you¡¦re cross-eyed drunk, not seeing straight
Flying down the road doing ninety-eight
Listen to me boy if you want to stay alive
Better close one eye and do fifty-five
Cuz if that siren wails
Man, you¡¦re going to jail
Busted

Handcuffs and bail and the shame of it
Lawyers and judges who don¡¦t give a shit
And if you ran someone over, it ain¡¦t over yet:
You¡¦re goin¡¦ upstate¡XJailhouse Juliet
So ¡¥fore you leave that bar
And get in your car
Better listen:

If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
Better listen to me
Oh no, listen to you
You¡¦re fucked up

When you wake up at night, terrified
Afraid that your dreams have already died
And the whole world comes closing in
Taunting and teasing and jibbering
Ah, it¡¦s lonely and cold
The long night of the soul
Baby
Did you marry someone who you didn¡¦t love?
Or did you go around thinking no one¡¦s good enough?
Did you waste all your time on stupid shit?
Better get it together before you have a kid
Listen to me
Oh no, listen to you
Man, you¡¦re fucked up

If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
If you think you¡¦re fucked up, you are
Better listen to me
Oh no, listen to you
You¡¦re fucked up

solo

You¡¦re all of the pain that you rise above
And you¡¦re everything beautiful that you ever loved
So push on, yeah, to the light
Till the morning comes and breaks this night
Come on home, the light¡¦s still on, an¡¦ we¡¦re waiting
Come on home, the light¡¦s still on, an¡¦ we¡¦re waiting
Come on home, the light¡¦s still on, an¡¦ we¡¦re waiting

Jigglin'

Written By: Otis Wellington (Ted Cleary)

Standin¡¦ on the shore
The moon is on the rise
Waves kickin¡¦ in
Make me feel alive
Jigglin¡¦
When the night begin

Hold on girl
You know I¡¦m comin¡¦ home
Home to my head
Where I¡¦m never alone
Jigglin¡¦
When the night begin

Down the shore
Everything is all right
Beach fires burnin¡¦
Burnin¡¦ all night
Jigglin¡¦
When the night begin

When I grow up I never want to lose
Tumblin¡¦ in the garden
¡¥Neath the light of the moon
Jigglin¡¦
When the night begin

Down the shore
Everything is all right
Beach fires burnin¡¦
Burnin¡¦ all night
Jigglin¡¦
Let the rumpus begin

Solo

The light always dies at the end of the day
But when that moon rises it lights my way
Jigglin¡¦
Let the rumpus begin:

I want to live
On the edge of alive
Never gonna burn out
Never gonna die
Jigglin¡¦
Let the rumpus begin

Hold on girl
You know I¡¦m comin¡¦ home
Home to my head
Where I¡¦m never alone
Jigglin¡¦
Let the rumpus begin

Ma, ma
It¡¦s gonna be all right
Gonna ride this wave
The rest of my life
Jigglin'
When the night begin

Jigglin¡¦
It¡¦s castles in the air
Jigglin¡¦
It¡¦s castles in the sand
Jigglin¡¦
It¡¦s castles in the air
Jigglin¡¦
It¡¦s castles in the sand
