Last but, as they say, certainly not least, S.W.B. topped off the evening in fine fashion. This seasoned quartet played with a verve and sophistica-tion that humbly but confid-ently showed off their "veteran" status.
Lead singer Brenda is a fiery redhead with a voice to match. The other members followed suit with equally incendiary performances.
While their original songs (a blend of straight-ahead rock with progressive accents and beats), was top notch, they really stopped the show with a cool version of ZZ Top’s "La Grange."

SWB (formerly called Street Wise Band) have been a staple in the Midwest concert and club scene since their formation in 1997. Playing crunchy, bluesy, full-tilt hard rock, they cite their influences as The Cream, Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Rush, Joan Jett, Heart and Travis Tritt.
SWB is fronted by the lusty, well-endowed, leather-lunged siren Brena Pierce who writes all of the lyrics to the band’s songs. Brena is backed by world-class musicians Greg Stevens on the guitar, Dennis George on the bass and Desi Canale on the drums, who also contributes all the music to Brena’s songs.
Their brand new album, NO ALIBIS, should hit the streets by the time you are reading this column. Released on WG Records, the CD will feature 15 tracks of their hard-driving rock and roll. Some of the songs include "Here With Me," "Bring It On Home," "Back The Hell Off," "Sweet Little Lies", the pop/rock ballad "Believe" and my personal favorite, "Piece Of Me."
