Bio

Sweet Jane's origins lie in early 2007, comprised of Danda, Lydia Des Dolles and Ruairi Paxton, the trio have successfully become one of Ireland's most exciting new bands. It started when Waterford born Lydia Des Dolles, moved to Dublin from London to start work on her solo record, here she met Danda, who at the time was on the look out to find a female singer to collaberate with on his extensive back-catalogue of songs. After a mutual bonding session the two hit the studio where they began work on their debut EP ''Blackboots & Blackhearts'', soon after the decision to recruit Ruairi on bass became apparent as they started to leave the studio for life on the road.

The last 12 months has seen Sweet Jane tour furiously throughout the UK & Ireland, with a succession of live reviews and media exposure. BP Fallon has shown his loyalty & support to Sweet Jane by continuously featuring them as ''Artist of the week'' on his 'Wang Dang Doodle' Radio show alongside numerous tastemakes from the blog world including them in their ''Best of 2008'' & ''Hope for 2009'' catagories.

Their live set is described as an energetic roller coaster of sleazy guitars, achingly sexy vocals, split between Lydia & Danda & topped off with their trade mark 'dream-pop rock 'n roll'.

Shows over the past year have seen them tour alongside GLASVEGAS, BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB, A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS, THE KILLS, WHITE LIES, & THE DUKE SPIRIT whilst being included in the lineup on some of the UK & Ireland's finest festivals THE DREAM MACHINE FESTIVAL, INDIE-PENDANCE, IRISH GREEN GATHERING & LONDONS CALLING. Most recently they got taken along for the ride on Alan Mc Gee & BP Fallon's infamous DEATH DISCO TOUR in London & Dublin

In October 2008 they released their debut 5-track EP 'Blackboots & Blackhearts' through Dead Flower Records & RMG Distribution, recorded in Dublin, Ireland and mixed in Philadelphia, USA by Ryan Van Kriedt (Zaza, The Asteroid No.4, Sunsplit) - The EP received an extremly warm welcome from various media outlets & the tres-important blog-world. .

In March of 2009 they were picked to become apart of RTE 2's The Raw Sessions - a music documentary on upcoming Irish artists, where they had a crew of four people follow them for a week, filming at their studio, on stage, at home and finishing with a 12 hour recording session at Sun Studio's, Dublin where they recorded their single ''Black Eyes''.

Because of the dramatic emotion & melody in Sweet Jane's music it makes for a perfect partner in film and video, as a result their music will be used in independant and mainstream productions in the coming months. One director who felt compelled to use Sweet Jane's music in one of his pieces was British Getaway Films director Russell Lee Ford, who offered to produce a music video for the track ''Blackboots & Blackhearts'', while independent French film director Sebastian Bellaval is currently mid-production working on a video for ''Take Me Home''.

If you only set your ears on one band this year - we recommend that band is SWEET JANE
