"Sweet Japonic-Front Porch"

The four-piece Sweet Japonic has just enhanced the flavor of the Grand Rapids music scene with their new release, Front Porch.

Seven tracks of endlessly creative music prove the band's fluency in several genres, and those genres are so diverse that each song is its own entity. Whatever style they play, the musicianship stands out; every aspect of the band is intensely talented.

No matter what your taste in music is, this act's overwhelming grooviness will win you over. Visit www.sweetjaponicmusic.com. -- Sarah Byrne - Recoil Mag

"Truly infectious"

Truly infectious - the bands different musical backgrounds and excellent playing creates a different take on things. A+++++ - intomusic.co.uk

"Sweet Japonic is a band like no other"

Sweet Japonic is a band like no other band of today, playing a bluesy groove that will get you moving whether you initially came to dance or not.

Their Front Porch EP takes you through their diverse styling, starting right off with the song "Pour Out," an upbeat romp with an intense blues guitar lick that keeps you coming back for more.

One other especially notable track is the fan favorite, "Change My Ways." This track defies gravity, levitating its listeners to heights unheard of in the music scene for years. Luke Wilson's vocals really shine through, and Matt Young delivers yet another amazingly well thought out guitar solo, mature beyond his years.

All in all, this album is superb. The only drawback is that they aren't performing live for you as that is the preferred way of listening. Visit their website, hear some samples, and add this album to your collection today! - michiganbands.com

Bio

Creating a sonic texture that anyone can enjoy is a tough process, but a diverse group of four musicians have proven to be capable of the task. The undeniably catchy songwriting and infectious rhythms all garner them the ability to make even the shyest of people get up and start moving. Talented in and of themselves, together they are an intense creative force in the music scene that has been absent for far too long. They're Sweet Japonic of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Settling on their current line-up in the fall of 2003, Sweet Japonic brings to the spotlight four musicians that demand your attention at every waking moment of their astounding performance. Luke Wilson fronts the group as lead singer/rhythm guitarist, supported by a cast of Ryan Braman on bass, Ross Veldheer on drums, and the amazing Matt Young who is sure to be the next Stevie Ray Vaughan.

The critics apparently agree. "Truly infectious - the bands different musical backgrounds and excellent playing creates a different take on things. A+++++," says intomusic.co.uk. Recoil Magazine, which is distributed all throughout Western Michigan, had this to say: "Whatever style they play, the musicianship stands out; every aspect of the band is intensely talented, no matter what your taste in music is, this act's overwhelming grooviness will win you over."

With the perfect line-up, an undeniable groove, and insane blues/rock guitar licks, Sweet Japonic is out to win over audiences everywhere one venue at a time. So when you get your chance to see them at your local venue, take it. Soon you may be fighting the crowds outside Madison Square Garden.
