"Gig Review: SONI Saturday Rocks – Sweet September Show."

Rounding off things were young up and comers Sweet Taste (debuting a new rhythm section), featuring a lively frontman in the vein of Steve Tyler or rock god David Coverdale they powered their way through a strong set of hard rock influenced songs. Their energetic set proving that their spot on the top of the bill was a worthy one.
Sweet Taste are a band on the rise, having won their way through (alongside Trucker Diablo and last Known Addiction) to the Hard Rock Hell – Highway To Hell band competition in Glasgow this coming October. - Phil Allely Reviews

"GIG REVIEW: SO:NI presents: ALL THE BEST! Sweet Taste, High Output, Hijacked Empire, The Unprotected – October 15th 2011, Kings Head, Belfast."

The final act of the night were fast-rising newcomers Sweet Taste, who were playing their final gig before their trip to Glasgow’s Highway to Hell Competition. The energetic band seems to have found their niche now and the new rhythm section works very well indeed. Frontman Niall’s confidence is growing with each performance and his showmanship equally so. - Total Biker FM

"Empire Music Hall, Belfast, August 9 2012"

Sweet Taste are playing only their second gig with a new rhythm section, but the intense rehearsals leading up to the unveiling of the new line-up certainly pay dividends, as the band are already sounding extremely tight and the new songs are spot-on. From the raucous, party anthem opener of ‘Hanging Around In Bars’ through the infesctious funk of ‘Dancing Shoes’ and the slow bluesiness of potential single ‘Wonder’ to the closing pumping groove of ‘Meltdown’, the band’s Aerosmith-meets-Zeppelin vibe definitely does leave a sweet taste in this bitter old rock ‘n’ roll heart. - planetmosh.com

Sweet Taste are a band based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, who blend funk, blues and soul with 60’s and 70’s rock and roll, creating a sound that is unique, yet universally familiar.

They released their debut, self titled, 3-track E.P in September 2009, to great public and critical acclaim. Since then they have adopted a relentless touring philosophy, which has moulded them into one of Ireland’s most sought after rock acts, as well as receiving extensive radio airplay in the U.K and Ireland and further overseas. They have played some of Northern Ireland’s premier rock venues, such as The Limelight, The Spring and Airbrake and The Empire Music hall.

In September 2011, they were nominated to play the “Highway to Hell” competition in Glasgow, making a shortlist of 24 bands out of an initial 700+. They placed third in the competition, winning a covetous slot at Hard Rock Hell in December 2011, where they shared the stage with Black Stone Cherry, Therapy?, The Quireboys, Crash Diet, and dozens more.

A new, CD release coming soon. A U.K and Irish tour will follow.
