Q: Who is Swerve?
A: Swerve is everything you’ve ever wanted in a cover band. They’ve got both a male and a female lead singer, they’ve got two backup singers and they’ve got a full range of music in their repertoire, everything from current rock to top 40 hits to hip hop (how many cover bands have you seen that do Shaggy?) to all the favorites from the 80s and 90s. On their playlist, you’ll find songs from Black Eyed Peas, James, Blur, No Doubt, Mary J Blidge, GNR, Evanescence, Alanis Morissette, The Strokes, Tom Petty, and many others. They’ve rocked the crowds at clubs and colleges all over the Boston area.

Chris Martin (Lead Male Vocals, Rhythm Guitar)
“You play it, I’ll sing it.” Swerve’s lead male vocalist has been singing and playing acoustic in the Boston area for over three years now, and even boasts a title as a finalist (picked out of 9,000 contestants!) in the nationally televised talent series “The Nashville Star.” He puts it all out there, belting out the high energy sounds of The Strokes, the smooth resonance of Dave Matthews, and the scratchy tones of the Rolling Stones. Professionally trained in vocal performance, Chris is comfortable singing the hits all night long.

Andria Belanger (Lead Female Vocals)
Andria’s powerful and versatile voice has been heard all over all over Boston – at the Hatshell, House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, and at the Roxy, just to name a few. She got her start early – when she was about 14 singing in a wildly popular girl group called Young Love. Since then, she’s led numerous acts, from a cappella to covers to hip hop (with the Band Renasuns), and has now made her way to Swerve.

Rob Caplin (Bass, Backing Vocals)
When Rob Caplin isn’t jammin’ out with Swerve, he’s first bass with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. He has shared the stage with some of the country’s biggest names, from Tony Bennett to James Taylor to Rod Stewart to Cyndi Lauper. He has played on July 4th before 500,000 people, at the Statue of Liberty, at the White House, and even at the Superbowl.

Brian Joyce (Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals)
Before joining Swerve, Brian toured Ireland, the UK, Germany, France and the US with an original band based out of Dublin called Brando. They shared the bill with the likes of Howie Day, Damian
Rice, Powderfinger and Ocean Colour Scene. We can unabashedly declare that he is one of the best lead guitarists in Boston.

Craig Zingerline (Drums, Backing Vocals)
Craig Zingerline’s energetic style has graced the stage at the Middle East, the House of Blues, NYC’s CBGBs, and other popular venues all over Boston, New York, and the New England area with original band The Modeles. He has shared the stage with Mappari, Fiction Plane, and Washington Social Club. Interestingly, Craig is also Swerve’s designated “Shaggy;” his Shaggy voice has won him karaoke competitions all over Boston.
