The night got started with the raw punk-ska and 2tone sound of local favorites, Los Nauticals.
The band came out strong and were up for the task of opening for the DK. They entertained the crowd and got them amped with songs like, “Hey, Hey,” “Skankin Dorian,” and they even covered a Rancid track. - OC Music News

Swingin Johnny is a real long-beach classic of punk rock/ Ska. He was the anti-hero and a person, which is what punk rock is all about. He had been a paratrooper and he’d seen the world and seen more than most people could have imagined. But it was music he liked most.
He opened for the biggest punk acts in rock history – Dead Kennedys among them. But he was also a patron of local punk, performing with new acts and spreading their stuff. And he did it in a manner and style all his own.
He still has a place in the punk rock scene to support shows and support his favourite bands. And he does all of this with the hoodie on, emblazoned with his Sullen Clothing gear (the name of the brand that he has been wearing for years).
If you are a fan of punk rock and its culture, then this guy is a star. He was passionate about music and the scene and he is still one hell of a punk rock rude boy from Long Beach.
