Switchblade

Born from the near-desolation of the South West, and from a variety of musical backgrounds, all the main players have come together; Blade, Niko and Mongman make Switchblade. The three make up a strong team, working well together and blending talent and motivation with creativity and commercial viability.

Switchblade formed in 2005, gigging and refining their sound. The band went from strength to strength until Switchblade knew it had both the right music and the right team. In late 2008 Switchblade determined to move into the main music industry, composing songs that were prime for playing arenas, selling singles, and producing albums with longevity.

In late 2008, first recordings of two of the new tracks won Switchblade first place awards at the GMMA, Electric Chair, for best instrumental, and Constantine, for best metal song. The band also won a competition to support Bon Jovi, playing in front of over 23000 people. In the last 10 months, Switchblade has increased the momentum, writing a great deal of new material, gathering an extended team (artists/mixers etc) and finally recording their album to the highest standards.

Switchblade’s album, Beautifully Executed, was recorded at the famous Monnow Valley studio in Spring 09, with engineer Tom Manning, producer Dan Turner (Bullet for My Valentine) and finally, mastered by Ted Jensen (Nickelback/Green Day/Eagles ) at the New York based, Sterling Media.

Beautifully Executed is an 11 track album. Each song is very strong and stands well alone; together they create the unique Switchblade sound and a powerful first album.
