Switchblade and the Surgeon

Switchblade and the surgeon, based out of Seattle Washington, has been an ongoing music project since 2005. An on-again-off-again songwriting partnership of two members, Simon Bee and K.T. Schultz, it experimentally fuses together several different genres, mainly Industrial, Electronica and Alternative Rock. Simon's instrumental tracks create a compelling backdrop for K.T.'s striking lyrics and vocals. This combination of their intertwined artistic elements produces a bi-polar sound that can, at times, be haunting, deep and angry as well as fun and lighthearted, if a bit euphoric.

Live performance is a new ambition for the collective project. Realizing that they needed more than just two members to cover the rich musical textures without compromising the projects integrity, Simon and K.T. recruited three other musicians to their aid. Dwayne Scott, who is also the drummer for the band Kaskadia, will be playing an acoustic drum kit backed with electronic triggers to provide unique and, sometimes, scorched percussion. He also crafts his own custom drum kits to compliment his formidable playing skills. Jake Harrison, founder of his own record label “Robot Monster Inc”, will be playing bass, though he is the multi-talented singer/instrumentalist for his own band Hades Machine. Brett Cree, our lead guitar player, brings to the table a background in touring and creating some unearthly guitar tones and texture. This left synth/2nd guitar for Simon, and vocals for K.T.. More than just the some of their parts, the live band Switchblade and the Surgeon, combines the talent and creativity of the five members to bring a multi-faceted sound.
