BandAlternativeAcoustic

A genrenomic fusion of indie, alt rock, pop, folk and Americana laced with poignant lyrics ripped straight from your heart. A pitch perfect, smooth lonely voice that captures your heart and captivates your soul. Singer, songwriter, muscian,,,, Sydney is AMAZING!

Biography

Born in Austin Texas, the live music capital of the world, Sydney spent her childhood not thinking of being a singer/songwriter but still yet living amongst the greatest musicians ever to inhabit the blue planet. What influence that relationship would ultimately play would never have been considered until years later after her move to Scottsdale Arizona.

Like other aspiring young musicians, choir practice and violin lessons would find her beginning to connect the dots and yearning to do it her own way and create her own sound. Sydney then discovered acoustic guitar, bass,,, and songwriting.

Even with close family ties to musical success and worldwide fame, Sydney went her own way and wrote about her own life, her own thoughts her own “stuff”. Sydney had her sights set on her own fame and a Sunburst Fender Stratocaster. There would be no denying her.

It was not long until those working around her realized that clearly, musical prowess was amongst them. With public school a constraint on her time and talent in creating her own music, a deal was cut to finish with home school and work full time on her music and artistry development. Sydney soon began working with local professional musicians and playing local gigs to create relationships and cultivate her own following.

In such a genre specific world, Sydneys repertoire of songs differ in styles, direction and genres one might find difficulty in branding so one dimensionally. Selflessly self styled, its a new dimension of "Genrenomics". Everything you love about indie, alt rock, pop, blues, Americana and folk melted down and fused into one smooth wave of musical magic Sydney calls "Genrenomics".

With her upcoming debut EP in preproduction and due out end of 2007, Sydneys music is truly her own. Her lyrics are immensely metaphoric, dramatic and soul searching with melodys that burrow their way into your head to be held captive until they have transformed you to her liking

Lyrics

Hold Me Down

Written By: Sydney Sprague

I'm at the breaking point the bridge is burning down
The fire escapes are all in pieces on the ground
You know we don't have a chance so why try
You know we aren't ever going to make it out alive

Hold Me Down I'm shaking
Can't you see my heart is breaking
I can't leave you behind again
Hear me now I'm screaming
Watch me now my tears are falling
I need you to be here again

We're lost We cannot find the place that's light again
So dark we cannot see that the walls are closing in
Did I fail to mention it's about to break
It's my fault we're never gonna get away

Hold Me Down I'm shaking
Can't you see my heart is breaking
I can't leave you behind again
Hear me now I'm screaming
Watch me now my tears are falling
I need you to be here again

It all falls down
Hold me down
We're going down now
Hold me down

Hold Me Down I'm shaking
Can't you see my heart is breaking
I can't leave you behind again
Hear me now I'm screaming
Watch me now my tears are falling
I need you to be here again

Nightmare

Written By: Sydney Sprague

Everyday looks the same
My walls are turning gray
There’s nothing left to live for
I am struggling with simple things
My telephone will ring
And maybe I can wake up from this

Nightmare
Every time I turn around I see another
Lightning strike down on me

‘Cause I wake up everyday
Wondering why everything looks the same
I can’t take it
Life’s too short
I’m just too tired to try
Nothing’s happening and I don’t know why
I can’t take it
I’ve gotta escape

You have made it pretty clear
No, you don’t need me here
I wish that there was something I could
Do to make you change your mind
But we’re running out of time
I just can’t admit it’s over

Nightmare
Every time I turn around I see another
Lightning strike down on me

‘Cause I wake up everyday
Wondering why everything looks the same
I can’t take it
Life’s too short
I’m just too tired to try
Nothing’s happening and I don’t know why
I can’t take it
I’ve gotta escape

Close Enough

Written By: Sydney Sprague

Leave Me Behind
Go ahead and try
Take whatever’s left to keep you warm at night
California will come
Soon enough
Try but you can’t make me stay here

So maybe I don’t always get what I want
But for now I’ll just pretend its Close Enough
I recognize that there is something wrong
But I’m Close Enough

Sure I’m Alright
I’ll be just fine
Tomorrow rolls around and I’m just killing time
I’ll be done
Soon enough
Try but I will never stay here

So maybe I don’t always get what I want
But for now I’ll just pretend its Close Enough
I recognize that there is something wrong
But I’m Close Enough

Crying tears over hopes and fears
Worth dying for
Lies and tries and Compromise
Can’t do this anymore
Maybe the world stopped just outside my window
Or Maybe you just don’t see me

So maybe I don’t always get what I want
But for now I’ll just pretend its Close Enough
I recognize that there is something wrong
But I’m Close Enough
