Melbourne based Symbiosis have been quietly going about their business for the past 3 years – strengthening their line-up and honing their sound and skills. Their hard work has been paying off, with the band developing a growing reputation from music fans and industry alike, and garnering a groundswell of support at live shows right around Australia.
Dishing out a melting pot of musical flavours, serving up a sublime mix of uplifting soulful rock-reggae grooves with a side dish of roots, dub and beats. It's a sound that's fresh, appealing and invites listeners to climb right on board and get dancing.
Their sound and live show has seen them handpicked to support some of Australia's hottest acts, including the Hoodoo Gurus and The Cat Empire, where they were well received right across the country.
They've also appeared at a number of festivals such as Pyramid Rock Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival Island Time Festival and Folk Rhythm and Life, and are becoming a staple at the much loved St Kilda Festival with crowds storming the stage.
The band have received considerable airplay on Triple J and other radio stations, along with having a number of live shows broadcast on ABC QLD and ABC SYDNEY, along with PBS, RRR and Byron's Bay FM, and have had songs featured on 5 compilation albums.
2008 will see Symbiosis hit the ground running off the back of their successful national single-launch tour for the much loved RISE UP where as word spreads, numbers increase with many headline shows selling out.
Never ones to shy away from hard work, Symbiosis’ debut, self titled album is set to hit shelves in March which will be backed up with a nation wide tour leading to travels to Europe and Canada in late 2008.
So, maybe you have a mellow mood you need to sway to, perhaps you’ve caught that terribly good itch that makes you want to shake it down on the dance floor, or possibly you’re just sitting pretty somewhere in between. Symbiosis’ tunes will leave you with a grin, singing on in your bones well after the music’s over … we hope to see you there, you won’t be disappointed!
