Seeking meaningful exchanges, synapps is drawn to sound that transmits a sense of deep emotion with cathartic movement; a frequent wanderer amongst global communities he actively collects a diversity of sounds echoing from industrial, human and natural life.

Weaving these broad textures with the threads of Bass Music, synapps explores the musical styles of Dubstep, HipHop, Cumbia, Funk and Psychedelia, layering his original tracks with a collection of works by artists such as: Tipper, Bonobo, Thelem, Squarepusher, Brain Eno and Ivy Lab.

Staying true to the philosophy that “Music is Medicine”, synapps crafts sets that viscerally engage with dancers while leaving space for personal interaction. Creating a playful and inclusive environment through a funky distinctive style, he mixes original, mid-tempo, harmonically rich and polyrhythmic compositions with modern classics. 

Breaking down his music into stems, live arrangements blending eclectic world rhythms and loops are created on the fly, dropping in vocal samples that tell stories of social change and empowerment, or adding a little comedy to the mix. Live sets are often described as a nourishing journey that take audiences on an adventure, stimulating the mind while the body is working the dance floor.

Co-founder/DJ of Hot Shameless Funk parties in Toronto, a regular guest at Architextures (a Toronto weekly of 8 years), frequent contributor at OM festival and Conscious Dance Parties, synapps has found consistent support on CIUT’s “No Man’s Land”, landing a remix for Polish Ambassador and has shared the stage with artists such as Andrelian, the Human Experience and Michael Red.   

When he is not moonlighting as synapps, Snappy Homefry is active as a touring bass player with bands such as: Chameleon Project (live electronica), House of David Gang (Roots, Rock, Reggae) and Treasa Levessuer (RnB), having played venues from small clubs to large festivals (Camp Bisco, Shambhala, Evolve, Hillside, Sunseekers) and shared stages with Snoop Dog, Bassnectar, Lee Scratch Perry, Mad Professor, Ill Gates and Lotus along the way. 

Summing his skills and years of experience as a seasoned performer, producer and sound engineer, Snappy Homefry is taking it to the next level as producer/DJ synapps; after years of developing his unique productions, a debut EP is set to release in Spring of 2017 followed by a North American summer tour.
