Bio
The trio of Chet Doxas (saxophone), Matt Clohesy(bass) and Jon Wikan(drums) is dedicated to performing the original works of each member as well as some new treatments of some of their favorite jazz classics. The group is a dynamic blend of many musical influences including Jazz, Rock, Electronic, Classical, World, and Contemporary Improvised Music. While each member of the trio can be heard leading groups or participating as sidemen in some of New York’s most celebrated musical projects, this boldly interactive band takes inspiration from other collectives such as The Bad Plus, Jim Black’s “AlasnoAxis” and the Jimmy Giuffre trio.
