T. Shaheed

BIO

Hailing from the coastal city of Oxnard, California, singer/song writer T. Shaheed grew up singing in the church. At the age of 4, he joined the youth choir. He grew up intertwined with his family’s deep ties to gospel music in Southern California. His style developed due to the musical influences of his mother and grandmother. His mother performed as the lead singer in their family church and sang with various bands. His grandmother was a pianist and choir director.

His family exposed him to a wealth of music as a child, which played a huge part in his vocal development. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that T. Shaheed was always surrounded by a variety of different forms of music.  Later, as a student at Oxnard High School, T. Shaheed became a member of the Jazz Ensemble as well as the Vocal Ensemble. It was here that he started to develop his tastes and interests as an aspiring artist. 

His biggest musical influences are Chris Brown, Donnie Hathaway, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Musiq Soulchild, Daryl Coley, BlackStreet, Brandy and countless others. After working hard and developing his unique sound, he is now preparing to release his first debut project, self-titled “T. Shaheed”, which displays the growth and changes that he has developed over the recent years. The biggest motivation with the self-titled “T. Shaheed” is it displays the versatility that he has with his vocals at a young age of 22 years old. The project has allowed him to develop as a person, grow as a writer and singer.

T. Shaheed has performed colleges, nightclubs and was also featured at the Motown Tribute in Scottsdale, AZ.
