"February 1, 2006 - The Rusty Nail"

THE T4'S ROCKAFOLKABLUES BAND - SOME BANDS HAVE IT SOME BANDS DON'T......THIS BAND HAS IT. A 3 PIECE BAND THAT MIXES FOLK , ROCK , REGGAE , AND BLUES. I LOVED IT. THE FIRST THING I WOULD SAY THOUGH.....SHORTEN THE BAND NAME. SHORT AND SWEET ....IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING. I LOVE THE HARP AND SOUTHPAW PLAYING GUITARIST. LEAD SINGER HAD IT BOTH. THIS BAND IS GOOD ....REAL GOOD. MIXING CREATIVE TIMED RIFFS TO CHARMING LYRICS. THIS BAND HAS A CERTAIN CONFIDENCE IN THEIR LOOK AND THEIR SOUND. THEY ARE OOZING WITH ORIGINALITY IN THEIR ORIGINAL MUSIC......SOMETHING I ALWAYS LOOK FOR. A COOL STYLE BY THE DRUMMER AND BASS PLAYER MADE IT QUITE AN EASY SET TO LISTEN TOO. BUT THE HARMONICA ALWAYS GIVES THE BLUES FEELING SOMETHING TO REMEMBER IT BY. OVERALL , I DUG THIS BAND.

"Featured Artist for November/December 2005"

T-4'S ROCKAFOLKABLUES BAND – COVERED BRIDGE CHRONICLES: T-4 is a trio of self-taught, multi-instrumentalists. All three members have been playing an assortment of instruments since a young age. T-4's music is a blend of blues, country, folk and rock. Their vocals have a down home flavor and you can almost picture the band hanging out on a front porch jamming. The ten-track CD is about life in rural Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. T-4's songs are filled with blues based guitars, foot tapping rhythms and straightforward lyrics. 'Way Back When' is the opening track and sets the snappy tone for the rest of the CD. It features catchy beats and instrumentation, as well as a colorful twangy solo. It is followed by 'Dollars For Today', which blends rapid bass line with creative storytelling and a cool old style guitar solo. 'Something Old Fashioned' is a slower, acoustic song reflecting on life and love in farming country. T-4's songs are an organic mix of old and modern styles that is very enjoyable in its flow and integrity !

Review: T-4's RockaFolkaBluesBand is a trio from rural Sullivan County, PA who deliver a pleasing blend of - you guessed it! - rock, folk and blues. The three talented members played together in a house band in a Philadelphia bar before forming the decidedly rootsy-sounding T-4's RockaFolkaBluesBand. Their unique sound and undeniable stage presence have appealed to fans of any of the three genres they combine, as well as people who aren't fans of any of the above. Definitely worth a listen! –AM

"RockaFolkaBlues Band, Homegrown Music from T-4"

CD Release Party on May 7
By Mark Roinick

Most people who live or visit Sullivan County realize the land is fertile for farm life and foliage. What's becoming apparent is the region is also a fertile ground for homegrown music.
On Saturday, May 7, at the Whistle Stop in Dushore, Tom "T-4" Shoemaker's RockaFolkaBlues Band will hold a CD release show of his latest musical harves, "Covered Bridge Chronicles". The show, part of the Whistle Stop's Cinco de Mayo Night, is set to begin around 8 p.m.
Shoemaker, is excited about his band's latest effort. Songs are seasoned with local references to the region and layered with rolling mountain rhythms. "It's a reflection of growing up in Sullivan County...I think it's a nostalgic Cd, but also modern and new that's accessible too." explains T4.
Although the songs on "Covered Bridge Chronicles" are all original, Shoemaker makes note of some of his influences, "Mainly, the influences are from classic rock styles like Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Traveling Wilburys, and Tom Petty was a big influence, as well. But it's also a diverse collection."
T-4 is no stranger to the musical process. With over ten years of playing the guitar, he has already released a ten-song album and a four song demo. The demo recieved interest from Nashville and Los Angeles, and one song was published by a record company in West Virgina.
Shoemaker is a 1999 graduate of SCHS. He recieved an environmental science degree from St. Joseph's University.
The stage is set for the CD release party of T-4's RockaFolkaBlues Band's "Covered Bridge Chronicles". The full band will be there, at the Whistle Stop on May 7, at 8 p.m. Taste the tunes, homegrown, with Sullivan County flavor. - The Sullivan Review

Bio

In the gem of the Endless Mountains, a performing songwriter crafted his songs about mountain life, cold winters, and warm people. Playing his tunes for the crowds in the bars of Sullivan County, he built a loyal following and amassed a variety of different songs. He had recorded a 10-song album in 2002 and a 4-song demo in 2003 that was shopped in Nashville, LA, and NYC. A song from that demo was published by a West Virginia record label and another tune was featured on an independent filmmaker’s surfing documentary. His performances were mostly solo events, but the sound he envisioned would entail a full band of experienced musicians. He moved to Philadelphia and fell in with the company of a versatile bassist and drummer. They honed their playing skills in a college jazz band and later as a house band at a Center City bar. Finally in the winter of 2004, they went to the studio and started recording T-4’s library of songs. And so, in the shadow of the Ben Franklin Bridge and with a head full of mountain melodies, T-4’s RockaFolkaBlues Band was born.
