"GoGirls Music Album Reviews"

The musically, gifted voice flowing from this mostly acoustic CD is none other than the talented Tabitha Monet. Once looking for a career change, this artist took some advice from her mother and answered an ad looking for a backup singer for a local band. This was just the beginning of smart move made by Tabitha’s part. Documented in this latest release, the CD mirrors an inside look to Tabitha’s personal life in extroverted love songs and exposed lyrics that are rich in flavor. Bio

You will hear. You will see. Her art will flourish. Tabitha Monet is a newly emerging singer-songwriter from Houston, Texas, who uses a unique collection of words to deliver her life reflections. “In October 2004, I finished the CD ‘Adventures of Me and Me,’ on which I wrote and performed all the music and lyrics. It’s not seamlessly produced, but it’s a good representation of what I sound like live. Having a product to sell or give-away opens doors to radio interviews and new venues. It has also greatly increased my fan base. And my audience continues to surprise me – I have female & male listeners but more fanmail comes from the male sector. Listeners’ ages span from late teens to people in their 60s. Geographically speaking, they’re all over the world map." She performs solo acoustic shows in Houston and is featured regularly on KPFT, Houston listener sponsored radio. However, most of her concentration is focused privately on songwriting and learning to create better recordings. A few of her musical influences include Aimee Mann, PJ Harvey, Ani Difranco, and Bjork. She is also greatly influenced by classic literature, philosophy and poetry. Tabitha’s main ambition is create thought provoking, emotionally stirring, original work with better production and greater commercial value.

“I realized my need to pursue a music career only a few years ago, after answering a classified ad for a backup singer. Soon afterward, I found myself performing with jazz and rock cover bands, touring internationally, and teaching myself keyboard, guitar and violin. I now have a lot of completed work and look forward to finding the right producer and musicians so we can make some better recordings.”
