Lyrics

Cat Call

Written By: Michael Ranzo

Why do you run from the dreams you enjoy when you sleep
Those shameless breakers of promises you keep
You feel disarmed when under my charm
Control your panic don’t be alarmed when I creep
Through the heart you leave helpless for me

Believe your feelings baby

It’s too late to play nice
A thousand cuts reveal your every secret
And feed them to the night

Cats will call, dig in their claws and dull the sharpest wit
Until you’re powerless to it
In memories of yesterday you need never be ashamed when you
Feel your body scream my name it’s just a dream baby

You can’t escape your sexuality
So take a night off from your reality
When your subconscious asks to prowl
Allow the instinct you’ve been endowed set you free
And through darkness for once you will see

Tonight I’m with you baby

It’s too late to think twice
When every thought betrays your inhibition
No one will sympathize

Cats will call, dig in their claws and dull the sharpest wit
Until you’re powerless to it
In memories of yesterday you need never be ashamed when you
Feel your body scream my name it’s just a dream baby

Ooooh tell me
How do you intend to see this end
When you’re falling deeper and deeper again
I know you see the writing on the wall
And better or for worse recall the way I used to call you baby

Cats will call, dig in their claws and dull the sharpest wit
Until you’re powerless to it
In memories of yesterday you need never be ashamed when you
Feel your body scream my name it’s just a dream baby

Night will fall and soon you’re lost in metamorphosis
That has you begging for my kiss
In memories of yesterday we’re city cats astray so
Feel your body scream my name as all your dreams fall prey

Keep Away

Written By: Michael Ranzo

It's a prisoners dilemma and here in my cell
This attraction we've been dealt
A vicious enigma where heaven and hell
Confuse themselves so well

Now this guilty pleasure has taken its toll
Still my conscience is not sold
On your weak endeavor to sever its hold
Half the story goes untold

It's not that you're right, it's not that I'm wrong
It's just that you got me hanging on
To words left unsaid cause I know in your head
That you struggle to keep them off of your tongue

So do what you must to try to let go
But distrust the strength you show
Don't ever misjudge the length I will go
Once this compulsion has taken control
You will say run away, but I just can't do that no way
I miss you too much to leave you alone
This affliction's here to stay
So keep away

It's not that you'd never surrender yourself
Comfort has you uncompelled
To face this together and bid your farewell
To confusion that you've felt

It's not that youre right, it's not that Im wrong
It's just that you got me hanging on
To what we'd become if you were to succumb
To the words you hide on the tip of your tongue

So do what you must to try to let go
But distrust the strength you show
Don't ever misjudge the length I will go
Once this compulsion has taken control
You will say run away, but I just can't do that no way
I miss you too much to leave you alone

When life falls behind you
And words build up inside you
One slip is all it takes and I will find you
Until then try to

Let go, let go
Let go but beware the strength you show
Don't ever misjudge the length I will go
Once this compulsion has taken control
You will say run away, but I just can't do that no way
I miss you too much to leave you alone
My conviction will not sway
So keep away

More

Written By: Michael Ranzo

It's complicated, the way you got me hooked
The way your kiss invaded me, the way you got me so
Intoxicated, inebriated by
The taste that lingers in my mouth I never should have known

I'm captivated, this bug will be not be shook
Not easily placated by the times we had before
Love it or hate it, I'm driven crazy with
An itch you aggravated now insatiable I'm back for more

Here I go again, too drunk to drive
But dumb enough to try it every time
Your honor here's my plea
Go on convict me
I'm under the influence you cast on me

Ooooh, I'm guilty
I'm a junkie for every pleasure you inflict on me
So sentence me
I don't want your mercy
Your touch relieves my pain I can't refrain
Got me time and again askin' why
Can't you see how high we soar when you give me
More

(If you ain’t wit it then quit it
Cause this ain’t livin’ but
Here you go
Tellin’ me go)

I'm elevated, you got me so damn high
No matter that I'm blinded I'll still end up at your door
Emaciated, with cursed hunger I endure
The pang exacerbated by its cure

Here I go again, too drunk to drive
But dumb enough to try it every time
Your honor here's my plea
Go on convict me
I'm under an oath to my insanity

Ooooh, I'm guilty
I'm a junkie for every pleasure you inflict on me
So sentence me
I don't want your mercy
Your touch relieves my pain I can't refrain
Got me time and again askin' why
Can't you see how high we soar when you give me
More

(enter Double A)

It’s like we at it again
Time and time again with the mind trap
We either fight or we’re friends on the wrong track
Forward then look back to spot no end
Cause insane don’t bend
(Don’t reason it like that)
Now things change & I can accept that
But what remains is the
Conflict in the way we live
If it ain’t for nothing
Somethin’s gotta give, again

Time and time again
We either fight or we’re friends
But somethin’s gotta give
Somethin’s gotta give
It’s like we at it again
(repeat)

My Anthem

Written By: Michael Ander

My time grows late, and I suspect that
Fate is more a muse for
The man I choose to be
I contemplate, how did I stray from great things
When I used to dream so clearly

I look up
Confront the mirror to see
My father's eyes staring back at me
But I'm fed up
With frustration following me
No not this time
This time, not me

I'm taking hold this tantrum
And I'm making it my anthem
Tearing down my cage so I can finally learn to fly
To hell with expectations
Always holding my life for ransom
I'd rather take my chances
Beyond the maelstrom's eye

I hear them
On the ripples of this listless sea
Complacency, robbed me of my old songs
God damn this dance with destiny
A lifetime spent waiting for my turn
When all I had to do was lead

I look up
Confront the mirror to see, a life of
False starts and missed opportunities
But I'm fed up
With frustration swallowing me
No not this time
This time, not me

I'm taking hold this tantrum
And I'm making it my anthem
Tearing down my cage so I can finally learn to fly
To hell with expectations
Always holding my life for ransom
I'd rather take my chances
Beyond the maelstrom's eye

It's comfortable here
Ignore your problems
The product of invented fears
Why bother to solve them

But it's my life to lose
And this time I choose
Into weather

One shot, I'm sick and tired of
Try or not, I'll turn the page on these
Fears I got, use my rage
Against all odds, I swear I'll make it

I'm taking hold this tantrum
And I'm making it my anthem
Tearing down my cage so I can finally learn to fly
To hell with expectations
Always holding my life for ransom
I'd rather take my chances
Beyond the maelstrom's eye

I'm taking hold this tantrum
And I'm making it my anthem
It goes, fuck off convention I'll let emotion be my guide
To hell with expectations
Always holding my life for ransom
I'm starting a new paradigm
And leaving those lies behind...

Into weather I go
Into weather I go
This time I choose to live my life
Beyond the maelstrom's eye

Discography

2009: "The Guilty Pleasures Prototype"
Available at www.soundslikefeel.com

"The Guilty Pleasures Prototype" is the band's debut EP and collectively encapsulates Tactylics' musical style. Conceptually, the mood is dark, as songwriter Ranzo's first three songs share a theme of inner conflict over ill-fated, yet addictive relationships. The remixes of each song showcase the band's cross-genre versatility.

Produced and mixed by Igor Kisil (aka Iggy Sweet Rains) and M Ranzo. Engineered by Igor Kisil. Recorded: Manhattan Beach Studios, FlowNY, Bass Hit Recording. Mixed at Bass Hit Recording. Remixed by Sweet Rains, NY, USA (www.sweetrains.com) by Igor Kisil (producer, remixer) and Johan Brunkvist (programming, keyboards). Original mixes mastered by Steve Kadison. Remixes mastered by Marco van der Hoorn at Arjan Digital Mastering (The Netherlands).
